The 2007 AZ law on forcing businesses to use E-Verify was upheld by SCOTUS last year. The AZ 1070 bill, parts of which were found unconstitutional by the lower courts, will be heard by SCOTUS this year. SC, AL, and several other states have passed similar laws. The feds are suing them. In sum, we will have a better idea of where the courts stand on states enforcing federal immigration law when it comes before SCOTUS.
I know it's not too late but what is this candidate waiting for?
No inside information, but I do know that it is very early in the process and anything can happen. If the party is still fragmented in May, previously timid candidates may decide to step up. I’d like to see Ryan, or DeMint or what if Walker is truly in danger of recall in Wisconsin and decides to step in. What if a Draft Palin campaign catches on....anything can happen.
So far I like your possibilities.
