My wife worked as a consultant to Boeing. As a labor mediator. The Union folk in Kansas were easy to work with, but the ones in WA were terrible. As you may remember,,Boeing just had to promise to preserve jobs in WA as a cost of being able to continue to use their new plant in the Carolina’s. I think the folks in Kansas just lost out in the Obama power play to keep the militant unions of WA state in business.

Politicians are pissed because they feel a lobbyist (Boeing) misled and lied to them? Boo hoo.

I wish lawmakers were legally prohibited from having ANY influence on DoD acquisiton; I get sick of seeing decisions made based on jobs and keeping plants open. The contractor is right here; they have a business to run... jobs should have never been an issue in the first place, just meet the warfighter’s needs in the most cost effective manner and knock off the politics.
