Heres a pretty clear sign of which way the politics are moving in the fight over Obamas decision to employ a recess appointment to install Richard Cordray as head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Senator Scott Brown whos facing a stiff populist challenge from Elizabeth Warren, the creator of the agency has now come out in support of the move. His statement, sent over by his office:
I support President Obamas appointment today of Richard Cordray to head the CFPB. I believe he is the right person to lead the agency and help protect consumers from fraud and scams. While I would have strongly preferred that it go through the normal confirmation process, unfortunately the system is completely broken. If were going to make progress as a nation, both parties in Washington need to work together to end the procedural gridlock and hyper-partisanship.

The few Republicans I know that voted for Brown have said that it made no difference and they may as well have voted for Coakley.
Brown won because he was different. He will lose by becoming what he claimed to be running against.
How horribly disappointing of him. Some people evolve. Others mutate. I called his office today to register outrage. The guy on the phone sounded bored. I will sit-out his reelection bid.
Anybody here NOT expect that pandering scumbag Brown to stab the nation in the back?
I expect Warren to win, but now I hope she trounces him.
Yes Brown is RINO. That is the best you are going to get out of MA. He’s going to cast a lot of votes that piss us off. But he’s the best you are going to get out there. A Conservative would never hold a Senate seat in MA.
Why?
Saying that Brown is better than a Democrat is like saying that a terrorist is better than an enemy soldier; The fact that he’s wearing our uniform only makes him all the more dangerous.
Actually, the R behind his name means heal caucus with R, and we might get a Senate Majority leader.
Elizabeth Warren sound better to you?
Brown won for one reason and one reason only - - he promised to be the one vote needed to put the brakes on Ubama's Mengelecare. Conservatives took that one promise and proceeded to create in their minds a genuine tea party candidate, and some even used the phrase, "presidential timber". They enthusiastically voted for Brown in droves. Brown has shown since his election that he never was that mythical Massachusetts conservative in the first place and no longer had any use for the tea party movement. No, Brown is more interested in pleasing the Boston Globe. So now it's, "Buh-bye, Brown." Good luck getting enough Massachusetts rats to make up for the tea party base you threw under the bus. ..You scumbag.
Probably
and I hope he loses his seat to Elizabeth Warren
I don't
Yes, but they'll fall in love with the next unknown political figure. There have been many before. Some folks never learn.
Brown’s pathetic pandering will not win him any votes. It wouldn’t surprise me if Warren turned this to her advantage by mocking this pitiful attempt to win over Ma. liberals.
Landrum is pretty. I live in NC
Excellent well said!
Didn’t he model underwear at some time in his past???
Truely this is a skidmark moment in his political career...
