"This is quirky place and a quirky process to say the least," Perry said of Iowa and its caucuses. "We're going to go into places where they have actual primaries and there are going to be real Republicans voting."

I thought he was throwing in the towel. Maybe he has enough money for one more debate. Need to get the tea party to coalesce around Santorum.

“Yeah, those farmers in Iowa and around this country who grows the food that people eat.”

“Food that people put in their vehicles.” Fixed it.

Apparently you are ignorant of the Dems who voted for Ron Paul in the caucuses.

Iowa has same day registration.

They aren't real Republicans!

All the Perry bashers will eventually learn how crow tastes when he takes S. Carolina and Florida. He’s the only veteran among the candidates and both of those states are home to millions of active and retired military vets — as well as actual conservative southerners.

You know Rick Perry isn't a Romney fan. You are intentionally being misleading!

You're as bad as Romney!

Perry wouldn’t be saying this if he had won Iowa.

He probably would and if he had won you would be saying Iowa doesn't matter.

Are you aware that the Iowa winner rarely goes on to become the nominee?

Are you people really unaware of all the talk about the Dems and "Republicans for a day" voting in the caucuses?

Are you ignorant or stupid?

I don’t know. It doesn’t make sense. If Perry were to drop out, then Santorum would get his votes and maybe even be able to give Romeny a run in New Hampshire. But with Perry in it, then the conservative vote is split and only ONE PERSON benefits (yes, unfortunately a lot of conservatives haven’t had the dreadful experience of living under Perry...so they wind up voting for him).

It’s time for Perry to be a TEAM PLAYER, for once.

Why would a Perry supporter go to Santorum ? Santorum has no executive experience, a shaky fiscal legislative record, and has limited appeal beind evangelicals.

Because he’s a conservative...something a lot of people outside of Texas think that Perry is. Santorum is a perfect fit for them. As far as legislative, I personally do not remember him doing a thing that bothered me, other than supporting Spector. Maybe he did bad things...but there were a LOT of MUCH WORSE Republicans back then...the ones we call RINOs now.

Only an Aggie would hold up a Number 1 sign after finishing second to last.

Now that is funny.

He shook a lot of hands in Iowa. Wonder if he told every one of those folks that he thinks they are quirky. If he did, bet he wouldn’t have cracked 5%.

I think we're doing extremely well compared to the rest of the country.

What specifically is your "dreadful experience?"

Perry is more fiscally conservative than Santorum.

GWB didn't win NH and nobody but Mitt has a chance in NH. Most of them are at least as liberal as he is!

“What specifically is your “dreadful experience?”

“Dream” Act (and more so, his defense of it recently), TTC, that stupid judge, not appraisal reform, no E-Verify, coddling Aga Khan, and Mexico.
...off the top of my head.

Perry is more fiscally conservative than Santorum.”

...in your dreams. Texas Technology Fund...his slush fund for friends.

Perry is not soft on illegal immigration. If any of the other candidates had had to deal with it they might have done much worse than Perry has done.

A lot of what you call "coddling" is the same crap as when the pols call each other "The Honorable." It's "stuff" they have to say and do.

There isn't a doubt in my mind that Rick Perry isn't the most red blooded, All-Americanm, Eagle Scout in the race.

I agree...but McCain is also All-American in my book (considering his past). The problem is that they both coddle Illegals and call people like myself (and probably you) ‘heartless’ when you oppose them.

That hurts.

“Sticks and stones...But words will never hurt me!”

I’m sure you, like me, have VERY THICK skin being on this site and talking politics. I just get worried when I hear words from a politician that I don’t like, because that generally tells me what they will do, once in power.

But heck, I’ve got a psycho on another thread calling me a kook because I won’t support Whole Language. Feel like helping me out...
