I do. I think values and freedom are interrelated. We can’t have freedom without strong and healthy families and without families we can’t stop crime and other malignant social phenomena. We can’t spend our way out of preventable problems by jailing people. Then its too late. Government has to give families the tools to help themselves, not get in their way and support them as they raise their children and do the right thing. Santorum wrote about this in his book. Its really the big picture and begins with the building block of society.

Rick Perry has this idiotic, horrible campaign-desperation-generated “part-time Congress” idea, that will never fly, makes him look like a pandering idiot and will ultimately derail his campaign if he continues to pursue it. It would require a constitutional amendment in order for it to be enacted—and that, folks, just ain’t gonna happen.
My apologies, but your constitution requires Congress to meet one day per year - Article 1 Section 4. Why would an amendment be needed to make Congress part time?

I would be open to anyone advocating eliminating czars, eliminating things like the NLRB, and a proposal on how to reign in defense/SS/Medicare. But all the candidates seem to want to talk about earmarks and trimming budgets and small tax cuts. I dont see much of a transformative candidate in this race, aside from Paul, and I dont think he could get enough people to vote for him.
Sadly, I really dont think the outcome of the presidential election will matter this year. It will either be Republicans “paying” for tax cuts by closing loopholes (raising taxes), continuing an uninterested battle in Afghanistan, and passing a bunch of small laws; or it will be Obama doing the same.
I think the goal this year should be the Senate, and the House Leadership.

I don't know what you are talking about. All of the conservative Republicans are talking about massive cuts in spending. Santorum has suggested over a $trillion in cuts, Perry slashing whole departments, Gingrich the same. I see reason for tremendous optimism if we can get any one of them into the nomination.
The only person who doesn't inspire me is Mitt Romney. I don't think he is at all conservative, I don't think he really gets how bad we conservatives believe this economy has gotten, and I really do not believe he can win the election.
I look at the history of establishment Republican candidates versus Democrats as opposed to the "upstart" Republican candidates versus Democrats and I see that establishment candidates ALWAYS lose.
To save this nation, we must nominate one of the three conservatives.
You are dead right about Congress. That is very important, but remember, Obama is now ignoring Congress. He believes that he can do what he wants when he wants without regard to what Congress says or the Constitution.
We need House leadership who will not be afraid to impeach Obama and we need Senate leadership who will not be afraid to convict Obama.
