Newt did poorly, which seems to be Steyn’s main passion.
Steyn has been pretty brutal on all our candidates, so not sure who he is behind. He has not been real hard on Romney, but I can’t believe he is backing him. I suspect he see’s Romney as the likely nominee and isn’t going to hard after him.
We don’t have a Jean Chretien.
No one wants to look at the books.
Budget cutting is not in vogue yet.
Listening to Rush Limbaugh praising, defending and promoting Santorum - big Government for the right reasons.
You got that right! bttt
Anyone that hasn’t heard him yet today, would do themselves a favor by going to his web site and reading the transcript or watching the podcast.
It will CLARIFY a really important issue for them. bttt
Racist comments don’t belong on FR. Got it?
I had to stop listening, it was horrible.
Not racist, observation.
“Lighten Up Francis”!
If I were Obama, I’d be thanking Steyn for all the help.
Oh and just WHO died here and make YOU boss?! Mr R and the admins can do their jobs w/out YOU!
I think you are right in the sense that Liberal White Guilt was satiated with the election of our first mulatto president. Merit will be a higher priority this time.
Steyn has puzzled me recently. He seems to be searching for the mythical perfect candidate. And one of the so-called most conservative candidate in the race won (Santorum) and the other one is gone (Bachmann).
I wish i could believe that. I am convinced the populace is woefully ignorant, self-involved, and not remotely interested in what will become of this country.
Do you not realize that King Obama is a communists BLACK Muslim? And who appointed you the FR watchdog? And just for a finishing touch over 95 percent of the black votes were for King Obama. Who is racists?
I can understand what is troubling Steyn. The only really strong, trustworthy, conservative candidate was Sarah Palin, and she’s not running.
I agree with him that this coming election is our last chance. And most of the candidates are pretty weak.
I think Santorum is the best of the bunch remaining, and I’m glad he did well. It’s also a plus that Bachman dropped out. I liked her very much as a congresswoman, but she was never a real POTUS possibility, and she has dropped the ball on her congressional responsibilities.
Too bad Perry came back in. Another loser, but he and Bachman took enough votes away from Santorum to give Romney a boost.
I don’t think Steyn is shilling for any one candidate, and certainly not Romney. He’s worried that Western civilization is coming to an end—killed by poor Demographics, moral decay, and the oncoming threat of Muslim domination.
I continue to be amazed at the number of people who write and think clearly, (Steyn, George Will, Coulter etc.) who are not backing or even debating Newt. People whom you would expect to intelligently speak to the man or to listen to what he has to say, are going after him personally.
Ann Coulter says that liberals will do that. Clearly, she is acting childish and like a liberal when talking about Newt. She’s probably ecstatic thinking that maybe she played a small part in getting Newt’s number to drop in Iowa.
FAct is, Newt is sitting pretty right now. He didn’t spend alot of money in Iowa, and the upcoming debates will make him better.
Look to Romney, as did Bush, Sr. with REagan) to refuse to debate Newt.
Steyn surprises me. I’m also surprised if Rush actually thinks Santorum is a viable candidate.
