Congress worked fantastically under Newt. He got more conservative results under a Democratic president then the next Congresses did under Bush. You can’t blame him because they fell off the cliff right after he left in 1999.
Newt has proven he is fearless and will take on the Washington establishment in or out of his party. Everything he did in Washington was great so how can you hold his Washington experience against him? A new person could go in there and become tainted. Newt has already proven he won’t.
I’m not saying Perry is a bad governor but he’s been in this contest long enough and hasn’t performed. He’s shown he is very unprepared for a national or competitive campaign. His polls in northern states are particularly poor but he’s not polling well anywhere.

I’m not sure who you are talking about. There must be two Newt Gingrichs in the race because the one who was Speaker of the House in the 1990’s is nothing like the one you describe.
If my choices are Gingrich or Romney on Super Tuesday I’ll get falling down drunk, be carried into the polling place and vote for Gingrich with a bucket under my chin. I’m still hoping for a better option.
Why? He’s only been in one race so far! Even Fred Thompson didn’t leave the race in 2008 until about 3 or 4 races were done!
