Patrons at a Cheyenne Starbucks got more than a shot of espresso Monday morning, when a gun inside a girls purse fired inadvertently.
Though several people were reported to being inside the coffee shop at the time, there were no injuries. The single bullet, which fired around 7 a.m. Monday morning, reportedly went through a chair and into a wall, narrowly avoiding many customers.
Police officers were at the Starbucks at the time and say the girl, who is under 18 and has not been identified, was cited for possession of a firearm by a juvenile which carries a $750 bond. The juvenile has since been released to the care of her parents.
The gun had been given to the girl by her father who encouraged her to carry the firearm for protection. Police reports indicate that she had received no formal firearm training.
nice... give your child a gun and no training
morons like this will help get our 2nd ammendment right infringed

these stories always omit the most important public safety lessons:
1. Don’t carry an unholstered gun. If the trigger catches on something, it can go “bang.”
2. Don’t fiddle with your carry gun. It will go “bang” if you pull the trigger.
I didn’t know a gun could fire inadvertently, I thought you had to somehow pull the trigger.
All I know is what I read in the newspapers.
OTOH, if this is Wyoming, it may go unnoticed.
Who wrote this, my cat? (I thought he was upstairs napping in a sunbeam, not reporting from Cheyenne!)
“Several people” were in the Starbucks at the time, but the bullet “narrowly avoided many customers”? She was cited for possession of a firearm that carries a bond? Wouldn’t that be a “fire-hand,” or some such thing?
Convenient that the cops were already there, at least. We wouldn’t want them to brave the cold of a Wyoming January without an overpriced cup of burnt coffee.
Obviously a well intended but ignorant (or stupid) father. I’m sure he didn’t want his daughter to get injured, killed or get in trouble with the firearm.
.......
I would be interested to know what kind of pistol was in her purse that went off. Curious....
Full auto AK-47 assault pistol with a full clip of armor piercing bullets that shoot through schools. Did I miss anything?
“illegal”
If she had a CC permit, then she must have had some training, otherwise, is it even legal to carry concealed without a permit in Cheyenne?
The folding sock, the bayonet, and the extended magazine.
At least I think they still whine about those.
What? No laser sight? What good is it...
What does the folding sock contribute? Wouldn’t you at least need a pair?
LOL! Yea, ya did...
No mention of "cop killer" ammo or "machine gun" in your media description of any firearm mentioned in news.
I like your humor.

Wouldn’t that be in the same category as “Assault weapon kills 3 in drive by shooting”?
Or
SUV runs off road killing passenger.
Apparently there are certain things that can ‘operate’ without human intervention.
The gun grabbers for some reason assume a folding sTock increases the lethality of the rifle.
As for a folding sock, well.. if it’s a gym sock it’s lethal already.
She probably had it attached (thru the trigger guard) to her carabiner key ring which also held her Honda Accord key, house key, fuzzy smurf doll, I-Phone lanyard, school ID card, mini-VIC card and a lucky charm.
