First of all, yes I do it for free, 100%. I’ve taught Gifted and Talented classes, I’ve taught 1st Grade, 3rd grade and 8th.

What I’m telling you and your friends is that you people don’t fall into the category of “I am hero and deserve”. You do a job, or if you prefer, you have a career. So? Lots of people do. And every one of those people can write up a list of problems.

However, generally your profession is failing. Our scores in this country have fallen, significantly. And you people still complain about how tough you have it.

That’s why alternative education, homeschooling, on-line and charters are growing by leaps and bounds. People are tired of hearing you complain.

So have at it. No skin off my nose.

>>Doesn’t sound like good value for $20,000 per kid per year.<<

29 States + the District of Columbia use K12 as one of their virtual schools.

Here in MI, it is tuition free and K12 gets the same 7,000 dollars per kid as every other school.

Each parent gets a free computer and ALL supplies.

AND they actually learn using this!

Three quarters of the problems in schools are due to either uninvolved or lousy parents. I am not pointing a finger at you, but I am certain you know parents that that does apply to.

Like I said tell the rest of the story who pays your rent/ mortgage, your food bill. IF you do it for free then it is because you have someone supporting you. Both m,y wife and I have to work, yet we also do other things that are charitable works. we all make choices

I was Assistant Principal for our summer school program last year. we did not use K12 specifically, but we did use a similar packet program. It was a joke.

These programs will work for thiose students in the upper 10-15% but for the bottom 10-15% they do nothing. Keep in mind that these studetns are in summer school for a reason. They are unmotivated to begin with.

Our families have degenerated, and we have now generations of selfish parents who will put up with about anything except having to deal with their own children, as long as they get their “me time”. This comes as a consequence of shifting our focus from traditional values to a culture in which “self-actualization” is the pinnacle of achievement.

Public schools are simply another way for parents to have someone else watch their kids while they go “do their own thing”.

Then you have no clue what you are talking about.
Kids are in summer school for a reason. Could it be that they didn’t get an education during the year? Who knows.

And yes, we all make choices on our income. Ours is not great, but we skinny up, eat hot dogs and Mac and cheese but I CAN volunteer and we make do. You get paid for what I do for free. Neither of us is better than they other, but I don’t complain about it.

Actually you are half right, neither of us is better then the other but you certainly do complain about what I do A LOT, while I never complain about what you do.

Then you have no clue what you are talking about.

Certainly I do, more then you do, the program was virtually identical, but sold by a different company. Psssst This is the part where you say oooopsy and apologize.

Ooopies, you’re wrong.
I worked with Michigan Association of Public School Academies. We assessed Virtual Schools as to which can be used as charters and which couldn’t. A person is ignorant if he/she thinks all virtual schools are the same. It’s the reason my children do Powerspeak for Latin and no other virtual language.

Just cause it looks the same, doesn’t mean it it. There are tons of virtual schools who pipe lessons into a house. None are K12.

And you betcha, I complain about the job you (plural) do. I pay for it. You pay NOTHING for my job. When I no longer pay for a product that is poor quality and unsuccessful, I’ll stop complaining.

Yeah let's use your (total lack of) logic a doctor that operates on the right kidney can't do squat on the left on because it only "looks" the same.

Lets make it clear you don't have a job, you have a hobby. Show me how to do it right I dare you. Actually expend the time, money and effort, to get a teaching degree. Then begin to work on a Masters, expend the time, money and effort, to do that while working and dealing with parents like you.

Come on in the water is fine, and an added benefit (according to your lack of logic) is you will actually know what you are talking about, for once.

>>Lets make it clear you don’t have a job, you have a hobby<<

Let’s make it clear, when you (plural) do your “job”, it’s a total failure paid for by the taxpayer. I have my own job that is making up for the failure of your co-workers in my area. Maybe when I, and those like me, are finished fixing YOUR failure, we might consider doing what you do.

Probably not, because by that time you will have so much competition, you’ll be pleased to have your job, without the whining and complaint.

>>Show me how to do it right I dare you.<<

Double dog dare or triple dog dare?
For heaven’s sake, show some maturity. You’re supposed to be a professional.

>>Then begin to work on a Masters, expend the time, money and effort, to do that while working and dealing with parents like you.<<
Not parents like me. I educate my own children. I watched the “Lord of the Flies” atmosphere and privileged educators label my daughter ADD, because she couldn’t think in a class full of bedlam run by alpha parents while teacher put in her Scholastic Book order. Hellsbells, you should be THANKING “parents like me”. We pay your salary while we educate our own. How socialist of you.

You won’t EVER run into a parent like me. We see to that.

Oh, and calling me here for your little snit is boring me to tears. Best stop now before you look even more foolish.
If you want to have a hissy, consider it the last word.

I have better things to do with my time than educate an “educator”.

Bu-bye!

Yeah I figured the truth would come out sooner or later. You have bone to pick against one particular teacher and you condemn the WHOLE system.

Talk about lacking maturity.

For those of you that don't have a Netmilsmom to English dictionary this means. Verga kicked my butt again so I am running away scared.

Have you ever been a teacher?

Until you have, you’ve got nothing to say to me.

Have a nice life.
