That was right after the RPV was sued for not validating signatures.

I don’t think Perry and Gingrich were planning on breaking the law myself.

not planning, but Gingrich has said publicly that his campaign had 1500 forged signatures from one of their paid “collectors”, and that was their problem. Hard to blame the RPV for rejecting forged signatures.
