I think if Newt was running against Obama, I believe he could run away debating Obama.

For one thing, Obama knows that debating is Newt's strength so he will only agree to do one debate if any at all. Newt will not be able to dictate the debates. He said that he is going to follow Obama around every where he goes, but does he have the energy to do this? I think is is terribly out of shape. He is not as fat as Christie in NJ, but he is rabidly Obese. I can't remember the last time we had such a huge fat President. I don't know in the day of American Idol that Newt would win the Presidency.

"Rabidly" obese? And I thought that was just beer foam from a recently quaffed brew! *ducking*

(Hey, naps, don't feel bad ... above, I nearly wrote "recently quashed brew," which would have been hilariously ironic and I'd not have lived it down for years -- thank God for dictionaries and the instinct to double-check! {^)

Whoever is in charge of the debates will structure them to help Obama--select only liberal Democrats to ask questions, pack the auditorium with Democrats and Democrat-leaning "undecideds," let minor candidates participate if they might draw votes from the Republican (Ron Paul, Gary Johnson, Donald Trump).

This has probably been the most divisive Republican primary contest ever, which only helps Obama. I don't think saying things like this enhances Newt's chances of winning the nomination--it just reinforces his old image as someone who spouts off in an undisciplined way. Whatever happened to Ronald Reagan's 11th commandment?
