This whole story is a load of BS. Perry is following the pension rules exactly as they were written and intended.
It looks bad because only two of the statewide-elected employees in Texas are eligible, and out of the two, Perry is the only one collecting it. Even the other person said it looked bad.

It looks bad because only two of the statewide-elected employees in Texas are eligible, and out of the two, Perry is the only one collecting it. Even the other person said it looked bad. It strikes me that the number of statewide elected officials even in a big state like Texas is a rather small number to begin with. Then, how many of these statewide elected officials are of an age and length of service to qualify?
It does not really surprise me that there are only two that qualify. Maybe it does "look bad", and it might not play well politically, but is it wrong?
