“When has this happened before in the United States?”

Maybe not so many at once, as in the LA fires, but this is interesting....

According to 2004 data from the U.S. Fire
Administration and the National Fire Protection
Association, 36,000 intentionally set vehicle
fires occurred, an increase of 18 percent from
the previous year.

Vehicle arson accounted for
$165,000,000 in property damage, an increase
of 25.0 percent from the previous year. Vehicle
arson accounted for 29.0 percent of all arsons.

My question was how many of these fires are set by mobs of Muslim youths? The thread poster made it sound as though Muslims torching cars here is a yearly tradition. Maybe in Parisian ghettos but not in America as far as I can tell, not by Muslims anyways.

You posted 2004 data. I wonder what the post 2008 data on car torchings are? I'll bet it's even higher and I'd further bet that most of these were set not out of malicious vandalism but by owners who could no longer make their car payments.

What's going on in L.A., I'm guessing, is the work of a serial arsonist.
