Joe Kennedy Once Again Cozies Up To Hugo Chavez, And Once Again Mack Says Enough Is Enough

WASHINGTON, Dec. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — In what has become an all too predictable pattern, former Massachusetts Congressman and Hugo Chavez sympathizer Joe Kennedy has once again launched television and radio advertisements praising Venezuela’s socialist dictator, Hugo Chavez. And once again, Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14), Chairman of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee and Congress’ leading critic of Chavez’s dictatorship, has admonished Kennedy for continuing to publicly laud the Venezuelan strongman.

Mack stated: “It’s beyond shameful that Joe Kennedy continues to line his pockets with a salary from CITGO and use our nation’s less fortunate as a PR mechanism for Hugo Chavez. If Joe Kennedy really wanted to help those who need it, he should support the building of the Keystone XL Pipeline from Canada and the 20,000 good-paying private sector jobs that would result from it.”

The full text of Chairman Mack’s letter is below:

There are a lot of things about liberals that I just don’t understand — their reverence for Marxist dictators is at the top of that list.

You don't recognize a gangster when you see one? Gangs are collectives. Socialists are collectivists. They admire gang leaders.

Politics and Joe's family aside: - Thousands of Americans buy Citgo gas everyday, is Connie Mack going to write to all of them?

None of those thousands of Americans is doing PR for Hugo Chavez.

- Each year Joe asks dozens of US and other oil companies to participate in this charitable program and none do, except Citgo.

So what?

- Lots of rich people try to help others in need, do we begrudge them all? If Joe wants to help people in need, good for Joe.

So you think I'm begrudging people helping those in need? Where do you get THAT from?

I begrudge Joe Kennedy building his resume by spinning for an enemy of the United States, for Joe's political and financial benefit.

If you think using Hugo Chavez to get oil for America is better than using American oil which will employ more Americans who are in need--not with handouts, but with real jobs--you are as cynical and immoral as Joe Kennedy.

You're welcome, glad my post informed (hopefully for the postee at least-sheesh). I cannot stand any one of the kennedys- always politically and good bit ethically. Looking back on the thread & your post here reminded me of yet Another kennedy illegal, one man foreign policy. It was when Reagan in 83 told Andropov our missile deal: "Remove your missiles from Eastern Europe and we will not deploy our missiles in Western Europe". This was a continuation actually of an offer by Carter and Germany's Helmut Schmidt.

The left went wild-- began the nuclear freeze movement- a wholly owned KGB/Comintern project. Well..... There is quite clear verified archival proof from the KGB that teddy boy, through his pal John Tunney (another one) approached Andropov for a private meeting, without informing the State Dept. or Reagan of course. He (both of them) committed high treason by ANY definition by so doing, and put this country in serious danger-while lining their pockets from the left.

The memo in the KGB files is long and quite damning- not touting a blog (it is located in a major book as well): http://bungalowbillscw.blogspot.com/2009/08/ted-kennedy-kgb-and-soviets-kgbs-ted.html

Joe of this post is another poisoned apple of this tree- elaborate machine vote buying while he sits on his ass. The entire family should be thought of as a criminal enterprise with members deeply entrenched in government and quasi govt. liberal non-profits that act as feeder lines to the racket. This time it was all about getting Reagan defeated (notably having also screwed carter- a hilarious story of how democrats work- which parallels can be drawn to obamalamadingdong- never forget teddy's role in 08 before super tuesday--wonder if the clintons remember it?).

And the asshat presentdent goes to the Berlin wall to channel Reagan-- or now he goes to ossawatomie, KS to channel Teddy Roosevelt (a "non" conservative progressive).

However there’s a problem with the math in these deals. According to Citgo 40 million gallons of oil went to help 181,000 households last year, however Citizens Energy claims it was 170,000 households. Now if you take the average cost of home heating oil (which was $2.43 per gallon), and the amount of $6,463,078 that Citizens Programs Corporation claimed to have spent on this program, the greatest number of gallons they could have been provided was 2,657,702. This is significantly less than the forty million gallons Citgo claims to have provided. If this amount was supplied to the 170,000 families that Kennedy claims to have helped, it would mean that each of those homes would have received only 15.6 gallons (or 14.6 gallons if Citgo is to be believed).

Joe your continuing to advance the cause of Hugo Chavez, a dictator who has declared himself an enemy of this nation, is clearly treason, cease now fool.

As far as why he continues his actions he thinks he will be in charge when we are forced into servitude in his communist/socialist utopia, bless his heart.

Every blinking one of them think they will be in charge after we enter their communist/socialist utopia.

I am as conservative as they come. I would pick Marx so I could beat the crap out of him and bury him deep some time prior to 1848.

Fransisco Franco and Pinochet both great men. Both right wing dictators, which is why the left hates them, who gave up power to Democrat control, which is why the left hates them with intensity, and they did this with out re-education camps or killing 10% plus of the population, which again the left hates them for. They are hated even more than Palin or Reagen or Goldwater.
And they, the left, never pass up an opportunity to denigrate them.

The Norwegians of Minnesota of which I am one, must have come from a better breed. They are all upstanding members of their community. The drunks and ne’er-do-wells where Swedes and sometimes Finlanders.

So perhaps you have found the way Citizens Energy and Joe boy
make lots of money from “donated” oil. Can you say “diversion”=== same thing Saddam did with the Oil for Food UN program— and they proved that overwhelmingly he ripped off the oil and then sold it on the “trucked” market to Syria. Why should a kennedy be any different?

Pinochet and Franco were both right wing dictators. If they had been left wing the left would not have been so eager to arrest and imprison them. Left wingers never ever relinquish power while still alive.

So then are we to say Hitler and Stalin and Mao were right-wingers too? . Every dictator in the modern era has been a left-wing scumbag and those two were no different.

No not all dictators in the last century where right wing.
Hitler and Stalin and Mao where left wing. Only two right wingers and both turned over power while they where still alive to Democratic governments in their nations. That action is not the action of a left winger. A left winger murders all of his competition he can get his hands on and does not give up power until he is murdered or dies. See north Korea.
