Labor Force participation is especially disturbing.

Down, from 67% to 64%.

To put that in perspective, about 140 million people were employed in 2000.

About 140 million are employed today, in 2011.

Unfortunately, USA population increased by 30 million, most of that from legal immigration.

The Social Security and Medicare Ponzi schemes cannot survive for long with a trend like that.

No one will be stupid enough - or desperate enough - to move here.

If you were sitting in on a stealth communist strategy committee 50 years or more ago, and were assessing ways to alter American society, what would you target? Wouldn't it make sense to encourage the development of government dependency and an entitlement mentality among the most vulnerable factions of US society? Wouldn't it make sense to encourage racial and class resentment? Wouldn't it make sense to encourage immigration from countries more likely to result in decreased assimilation and more political and demographic shifts?

While considering that, think about where we might be right now if Reagan hadn't been elected and we had continued down the path set by Carter. If the trends graphically represented in these charts aren't a wake-up call, what will be?
