Newt Gingrich tells a tele-townhall that Sarah Palin is someone to be considered for the Vice Presidency or Energy Secretary.
Caller: If youre fortunate enough to be nominated, would you consider having Sarah Palin as your running mate?
Gingrich: She is certainly one of the people you would look at. I am a great admirer of hers and she was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska, shes somebody who I think brings a great deal to the possibility of helping in government and that would be one of the possibilities.

“Much better than an all mormon ticket of Mittens and Huntsman”
After watching Huntsman in the debate with Gingrich, I just thank God that the machine decided to go all in for Romney rather than Huntsman. Huntsman is a much more compelling and dignified figure. Cold, but much more authentic. They would probably have had a sale with Huntsman.
Palin will never be in the #2 slot again. Been there, done that. No one would choose her anyway because she’d overshadow the actual nominee. Gingrich was just responding to a callers question and being diplomatic about it.
Besides, isn’t Palin sort of busy shopping another realityTV show? I think it is pretty clear she’s settled on doing that and political commentary for Fox (or some other network in the future) till at least the run up to 2016 or 2020.
Sarah will follow the Gingrich model of someone made radioactive by the press...she will bide her time and repair her image by appearing “moderate” until such a time where her negatives return to normal and she can try for ofice again.
I bet at the next campaign stops Newt will pick Judd Gregg in NH and Haley Barbour in South. Timing is a key element when it comes to winning elections.
I sadly agree with you. And Gingrich was down today and he cried so idiotic Maddow will make fun.But if Obama cried because he dropped his golf club the alphabet channels would have the nation in mourning.
Your premise is patently false. For the record, I do not want Paul/Romney/Gingrich leading this nation. Got it? But I do agree that America desperately needs God's help.
I'm not sure what kind of ads have been running in Iowa, but I can assure you that I do not want a President who believes that 300 pages of ObamaCare are "pretty good" and who promises to include those 300 pages in his own health care bill. I do not want a President who believes that a function of government is to reduce CO2 emissions. I do not want a President who has already demonstrated atrocious leadership skills. And I do not want a President who's vision for America is to return us to the Clinton years.
Vote for whoever floats your boat. But I'll be voting for a conservative instead.
.
- Sarah Palin would not even consider it
- Let us see how Newt does in Iowa -
He is already talking about South Carolina
- and Florida - Recall when Rudy Looked forward to Florida to launch him?
- As far as Obama - the alleged legendary basketball superstar in high school who sat on the bench -
When he campaigned in Europe (Europe?) he had a TV Op pre-planned
He made six “practice shots” for the cameras -
- the next one finally went through the net -
Obama’s shooting percentage:
1 out of 7:
14.28571%
- As bad as his bowling score!
.
What are you talking about - he’s playing the Palin card??
HE IS ANSWERING A QUESTION FROM A CALLER!! He didn’t bring it up.
If Newt made it to the Convention, I strongly suspect that he would pick Nathan Deal to be his VP.
That said, I’m not surprised Newt answered in the affirmative. His internals probably aren’t looking good. Paul is eating him alive.
Mentioning Sarah can only help him.
If Paul beats him? Dead Man Walking.
Best,
Chris
This happened to Newt when he supposedly said “I will be the nominee.”
Question: So do think you will be the nominee of the Republican Party?
Newt: If things hold as they are today, there’s a very good chance I will be the nominee.
Interviewer: You will be the nominee?
Newt: I will be the nominee.
You can see how the headline took the quote out of context.
So much wrong with this post. Drive by comment deconstruction 101: First, you obviously didn't read the question taht was asked of him - nor the complete answer, where he indicates she would be considered for any number of top spots, including energy secretary. You obviously thought he was out pimping for Palin to be VP Second, he knows she'll never run for VP again, but what is he to say: shut up stupid caller, she'll never run for VP again? Third, and wow, I hate to break this to you - and keep in mind I am a big fan of both Palin and Newt - but the fact is, he was a more conservative speaker than she was a governor. And his platform now is very much in line with what she would like. And while the true RINO's were attacking Palin in 08, Newt was defending her brilliantly. But other than those minor details, your post was brilliant.
Thanks, yes - was me in the Politico.
Tell Newt if he promised to truly shake up all the insider trading and crony crap and put the idiots that can’t balance a budget that are all millionaires on a HUGE PAYCUT and to cease they’re ability to just vote themselves another pay raise for they’re slum accounts on shore. And tell the UN and China ENOUGH then he will have my vote.I don’t want him just going there and playing PC non partisan BS footsie toe with the idiots (on both sides of the aisle) Seriously has he said anything other than he is good reaching across the aisle?
Thanks. Yes I do. Sensationalism sells.
Bachmann is too busy babysitting Mitt.
LOL really? It was you? I AM A LITTLE BIT PROUD.lol
