Nancy Pelosi’s office disputes daughter’s suggestion that Mom may be ready to retire

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s office is downplaying statements made by the San Francisco Representative’s filmmaker daughter Alexandra — who reportedly told a conservative website that Mom is only sticking around Congress because of pressure from her big donors.

Alexandra Pelosi, 41, a documentary filmmaker, is quoted in the conservative website, Andrew Breitbart’s Big Government, as saying that her mother “would retire right now, if the donors she has didn’t want her to stay so badly. They know she wants to leave, though.” “They think she’s destined for the wilderness. She has very few days left,” the Pelosi daughter is quoted as saying in a phone conversation. “She’s 71, she wants to have a life, she’s done. It’s obligation, that’s all I’m saying.”

Pelosi’s office, noting that Alexandra Pelosi does not speak for the Minority Leader, issued a statement disputing the daughter’s opinions.

“This may be wishful thinking on the part of a right wing blog but it is totally untrue. When the day comes and Leader Pelosi’s work is done, she won’t be announcing it there,” Pelosi’s Communications Director Nadeam Elshami, wrote in an email to the Chronicle.

It’s not just a “right wing blog” that is saying this, it’s her daughter. HellOOO
Something tells me mama Pelosi spoke too openly to her daughter and is being chastised for it.

When that bitch jackal finally croaks, they won’t need to embalm her.

Pelosi will only retire if it is to get out of town before something even she can’t cover up comes to light (ala Dodd, etc.), and/or if she somehow loses so much influence in the party that she can’t enforce her will with an iron fist on the rank-and-file.

Then again, she might want to retire so she can work on her dream of sending poisoned apples to Snow White...

That’s too funny! There’s no way that old broad is going to retire, hell you can still see the claw marks on the speakers podium from when they had to drag her kicking and screaming away from it, they never did find the gavel ... wonder where she hid it? She’s had a taste of the power that that position holds and like Gollum she’ll hang on for as long as possible in hopes of getting that precious position back!

I think she’s just keeping her options open before 2012. If things don’t go her way and it’s proof positive that she will never gain the Speakership again, try keeping her in Washington. If, on the other hand, things do, try getting her out.

Someone should investigate Pelosi’s nephew and his armed robbery back in the 70’s...no jail time...

Now that’s how things used to be covered up, lol.

Now, Alexandra. You must be firm, and don’t let her try and guilt you into backing down. If you don’t, things will only turn into a crisis. You get a lawyer, and then you file for something called “right of attorney”. Yes, that’s right. After you’re granted that, you can put her away in a nice home where she can’t harm herself or anyone else any more.

Anyone remember that car accident back up in Massachusetts back in ‘69? I don’t think any charges were filed then, either.

I think you’re right; the 2012 election will determine whether or not she stays.

If she truly wants to retire, why would she care what her donors want? If she retires she has no need for donors. She could tell them to go take a hike and move on. Unless she owes these donors more than what congressmen are supposed to owe their donors.
