First I’ll point out that you remain an absolute ass in spite of the fact that I”ve gone out of my way to point out common ground we have. This makes you typical of ALL NBCers and thus, you hurt your cause.
Second, I would imagine that almost everyone in congress had that ceremonial position that Ramsay had just like they do today when the Speaker is not in the chamber or the VP is not in the Senate, etc.
Third, there are many original intent constructionists who DO NOt AGREE with you and they are alive and they have real names not screen names. So once again, I ask you, is there anyone who is alive and who has cred who agrees with you?
If not, go away.
Really. All NBCers are asses, you say. CEW, I have long had respect for your generally thoughtful and intelligent posts, and read them with interest, even when I disagreed. But this sweeping generalization about so-called NBCers is over the top. Go back to your basic training in reasoning. Some generalizations work fairly well, especially with abstractions. Very often, however, a sweeping generalization is no more than a crude but ready blade in a street fight, especially when it concerns people. It is beneath you.
BTW, I am an attorney. I am not a credentialed “constitutional scholar” per se (though I was on Law Review and interned with Liberty Counsel, a conservative conditional law firm), but based on the information I have seen and considered, both with respect to the law and the forensics, I do believe Obama is probably constitutionally unqualified to be president. Am I an ass in your view?
Oh and one more thing. As a practitioner of the law, I have found the vast majority of pertinent legal authority to be dead people who wrote well and correctly. I am amused at your preoccupation with contemporaneous, living authority. It would be a semantic cheat, but it is tempting to ask what you think of the notion of a “living” Constitution.
