if this were the left doing it to republicans the MSM would be cheering.
the days of just sitting back and giving up for the sake of the insiders is long gone.
This is not simply an issue of a simple "Constitutional right to vote in a primary election". What we were talking of here (in our little part of a thread) was about preserving a Republic and the actions of a state that could possibly jeopardize the rights of American citizens in general.
You really should do a little in-depth study of this issue before this case begins and when you do, it will make more sense to you. You might even enjoy watching the events of the case as it proceeds once you understand it all and what is being considered. But you really DO need to understand the difference between the federal and the state aspect of this first.
Perhaps a google search or two on something like "state rights in a republic" or "federal involvement in state primaries", or "corruption in state primaries and Constitutional protection"??? Those would be good starting points for you and would help answer your earlier question as to what rights could have been violated or what a state (or commonwealth) may have done to intentionally hurt and/or damage our Republic form of government in the United States.
As I said, we don't know all of what we actually have here until the case brings forth the evidence to the public, and right now, it's just the appearances of the VA GOP that simply "look" bad, but we'll certainly have a better idea of any possibly unconstitutional actions once the hearing begins, and you'll want to be prepared to understand it a little more then. Good luck!
I do believe regular citizens in our country are beginning to understand how to better stand up and fight the dirty tricks of liberal media who outright campaign for their pretty boys, established politicians who want to hold on to personal power, and corrupt parties who vandalize citizens to get their way if need be. It is still going to be a hard battle to fight against these forces because they are very established in unfair fights and will not hesitate in many instances to get what they want regardless, but we, as regular American citizens, are beginning to at least see these things and are building the foundation to stop them in their disgusting disregard for America and her principles and values.
Governor Perry's court case is only one small part of our taking America back, but...
We regular citizens are getting there; we're learning, and we won't STOP until we have made a difference!
What "law"? The Republican Party is not a government entity and Federal judges, no matter how smart they think they are, should have absolutely nothing to say about their internal rules. They especially should have nothing to say about a state political party.
If Newt should benefit by a Federal judge sticking his nose in this state political party business, he should call for the judges arrest.
Fairer ballot access is on a moral level with owning and exploiting other human beings?
I think this VA ballot law is stupid, and I really hope I get more candidates to choose from, but I mean to compare those two is just absurd.
I seriously hope Perry wins this suit.
Go Perry!
BTW, the ballot candidates should be voicing their opposition to the exclusion of the others. But that would require honorable men — perish the thought...
See post #85. Perry’s case is about Virginia’s law requiring petition circulators to be registered/eligible to vote in Virginia, thereby reducing the pool of available circulators to gather signatures.
BTW, the ballot candidates should be voicing their opposition to the exclusion of the others. But that would require honorable men perish the thought...
Run that by me again, I'm not sure what you meant?
The other GOP candidates should refuse to participate in the VA primary election given the outrageous manipulation of the ballot.
Oh, OK, now I see what you meant. Thanks.
Thanks for that info. It will be interesting to see what the court may decide as to what was appropriate and what was not appropriate in the qualifying and signature verification / rejection process. It appears from this Colorado case that at least a few of Virginia’s standards do not fit into an “appropriate” requirement category. Do you think Virginia including Romney volunteers on the qualification committee will come up as well? Should be an interesting case to follow.
Do you think Virginia including Romney volunteers on the qualification committee will come up as well?I'm not good at guessing what a court will do. However, I don't think that will be considered; I don't see how it would be a constitutional issue.
You're most likely right about the issue of Romney volunteers on the VA ballot qualification committee. That part is a concern of corruption within the VA GOP, not a Constitutional issue.
Thanks for the response and for the previous info!
Screw the GOP pushing they’re Romney through! In the end...Santorum,Perry, Bachmann or Gingrich slighty holding nose- will get the nomination. And the tea party will all back the nominee and trump the GOP establishment cronies!
I think in the special circumstances as The GOP and the MSM shoving Romney in our face, lowdown, nasty tricks.Perry can utilize whatever is needed to fight this. The GOP and media will not chose the nominee.
I think these articles are updates:

You sound like this talking point in the comments below this article. If it was your candidate Palin,or Santorum or who ever it seems you would be screaming if they’re name was left off of a state ballot because the GOP want Romney.

If you read what the Judge told Perry’s attorneys, it would appear he doesn’t care much for their suit. I predict he will rule against Perry.
