There are plenty of blatantly incorrect opinions about the Republican presidential primary floating around and some of them are perched in some rather prominent places...
... But none that I have seen has been more obviously and dangerously flawed than John Hawkins' column entitled "7 Reasons Why Mitt Romney's Electability is a Myth," which was recently posted at Townhall.
...And since Mr. Hawkins gave seven reasons why Romney's electability is a myth, in the spirit of conservative cooperation I offer the seven most underrated reasons that Romney is indeed the most electable Republican presidential candidate....

5. Women like him and not just because of his hair and voice.
(yes, he is very handsome. Also married for many years to the same woman.)
Mitt Romney can have my vote. WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER.
BS I do not know a single woman who likes Romney with the exception of lds women. Especially speaking for myself as a conservative woman I loath the man, I do not like liberals.
Plus: Mitt is the Rodney King(Can’t we all just get along?)candidate.
No, Mitt, I don’t want to get along with these communist/socialist/Islamofascist/globalist/progressive(you name it)cretins, I want to beat them in the harshest manner. They don’t deserve to be in the leadership of this country, they are trying to destroy it and making good progress.
Sarah Palin still doesn’t love John Ziegler.
A majority of my friends support Romney and I live in a very conservative little town where the Reagan Ranch is located. I am not, nor have I ever been a Mormon. My mother was a Mitt Romney supporter prior to her death. My daughter supports Mitt Romney. I think you might just need to get out more if you don't know any other ladies who like Mitt. There are lots of us.
John:
You are a retarded, self absorbed, ....well, every perjorative I can think of.
Actually, you are just plain stoopid.
There is a reason why the liberal media slammed Bachman, Perry, and Cain non-stop when they were the front runners but hasn’t said anything about Romney other than conservatives need to get used to him as a candidate.
Hint: The reason is not because Romney is such a stellar candidate they have nothing bad to say about him.
Where’d you find that picture of Romney? No, not the bull, the one on the right.
Obama beats Willard on that count. PERIOD.
Sorry honey, you are stretching to say Santa Barbara is conservative. That’s where I live.
Maybe I should have said any THINKING conservative woman would not support Romney the liberal.
You know many who support Romney the question should be why would you support a stink’n liberal? A guy who is pro abortion pro homosexual agenda pro government mandated health care just to name a few.
Then why are you here?
Romneycare and all his other liberal stances aside there are two other problems about the man.
1) Only John Kerry and Al Gore have him beat on flip-flopping. Romney’s the type to run pro-life in a GOP primary and once he gets the nomination he’d run pro-abortion to win the democrat votes and somehow explain that he never changed his mind or flip flopped.
If there was a democrat majority in Congress he would nominate liberal judges and by the time his re-election comes up in 2016 he will claim that he had to nominate liberal judges in order to get them passed through the liberal Congress. That’s Romney.
The other problem about Romney is that he’s too “in your face” as a candidate. He could easily lose it in a debate and earn sympathy for Obama. We don’t need that to be happening.
without fail... every time I bring up Romney to ANYONE the very first thing they mention?
He’s a Mormon!
Nobody wants to talk about this, but it is huge, and will doom Romney in both the primary and the general. As far as I am concerned this primary doesn’t even start till South Carolina.
Why I, as a former Mormon, would not vote for Mitt Romney
for President of United States.
By Rauni Higley
[Written in 2007.. Still valid in 2011] .
“I would not vote for Mitt Romney, not because I think he is a bad person, or that Mormons in general are evil people. Quite the opposite. I can say that I do not think we could find a much more morally decent person for president in this country than Mitt Romney.
So what is the problem? The problem is that Mitt Romney is a Mormon, and Mormonism is a very aggressive cult, a religion that leads people to eternal separation from Jesus Christ of the Bible.
A US president with no definite religious beliefs, or a membership in some mainstream Christian denomination, may not have influence that could effect the eternity of individuals, but a man with deep-rooted cultic beliefs could influence millions into joining Mormonism, especially when taking into consideration that the LDS Church has a nearly sixty-thousand-strong missionary force, that could and would use President Romney as bait for an introduction into Mormonism, not only in the United States, but around the world”
Was Ziegler always a RINO who tried to get famous from Palin?
I will never vote for the atheistic socialist Romeny - never.
I'm not a Romney supporter as I still don't have any favorite at this moment. But your reply reminds me of a New York socialite who said similar thing about Reagan.
