MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) Rick Santorum isn't going down without a fight. In fact, that fight might be lifting him up.
The Republican presidential candidate who may have logged more miles than any other this year is more likely these days to be grinding it out on the campaign trail than trumpeting the buzz he's stirring among Iowa's conservative voters a week before the Jan. 3 presidential caucuses....
"Rick Santorum could be a real surprise," said former Dallas County GOP Chairman Rob Taylor.
In recent days, Santorum's crowds have started growing as he rallies conservatives with a pit bull's pugnaciousness, and just a touch of anger

" I think he's learned his lesson, and could vote for him, but right now I'm backing Newt, we'll see how it shakes out. "
Well, if Rick ticked you off before, Newt will tick you off even more, Newt is a Pseudo conservative progressive RINO.
I do not trust Newt.
At least with Rick, I can trust him.

If Rick get's the nomination, Rick will help us win in PA in the electoral vote.
Rick seems to be the rust belt/bible belt Conservative Republican, he will also pull in Ohio for us.
All we need is Ohio, Pa, Florida and we will win.

" Its Santorums turn, and should he become the next anti-Romney star, he could ride it out for a win. Sadly, it doesnt seem like that is going to happen. "
I would hold off for that judgement until after Iowa, NH, and SC.

That link I sent you shows that Rick Santorum is in 3rd place in Iowa.
Sorry, Perry had his day in the sun and he messed up.
So your asking us to support Perry ? when Santorum is in 3rd place in Iowa ?
Your asking us to put all our votes and energy behind Perry when we should be putting it behind Santorum who is in 3rd place in Iowa now... sorry, that dog don't hunt.

Santorum is such a terrific CONSERVATIVE candidate, I certainly hope the base would get over that he, like all people, made a mistake, or two.
I bet for every mistake Rick Santorum made, we can match that with a bunch of mistakes most, if not all, the other candidates have made.
Newt endorsed RINO Dede Scozzavave in NY’s 23rd district, but Santorum (and Bachmann) endorsed Dede’s opponent conservative Doug Hoffman. We should not hold that alone against Newt, but we also shouldn’t hold one mistake against Santorum either.
