Like I’m going to take notes on foreign policy from somebody who was stupid enough to be hiking in Iran.

So says the moron who hiked in an unmarked border region. How about keep your little butt at home until you learn how the real world works.
Maybe they should hike the DMZ between the Koreas or the mountains between India and Pakistan next.

Ayatolla Khomeini.... is DEAD! She either doesn't know who is the current "Grand Ayatolla" or the reporter goofed. Both are equally likely.

I've been proven wrong again. I used to think that a 2nd Lieutenant with a map is the most dangerous weapon in America.
This gal trumped that tenfold.

Shourd cited HR 1905, the Iran Reduction Act, a bill that she said would prevent low-level discussions between Iran and the Washington, the only type that has proven effective. In the absence of diplomacy, the slow march toward military conflict with Iran continues unabated, Shourd wrote.
Well....they were there for a long time, engaging in diplomacy at its lowest level. How'd that work out?

What in hell were those three people doing in such a dangerous place, never mind walking around as they pleased-they are unbelievably lucky to be alive to talk about that misadventure. Did they even have a GPS? A cell phone?

Guess it is time (at least in their own minds) to cash in on their gross stupidity.
Unless they were ‘employed’ by the ‘Company’ or one of its affiliates, there is absolutely no reason for any of the dumbies to be in the region - the fact that ‘we’ had to waste time and resources to free them is enough payment, in fact they should be back charged and made to pay for expenses, right down to all phone calls made in their behalf.

The average ability of Americans to exercise sound judgment and common sense dropped significantly when these three hikers returned home, but the average around Berkeley remained the same.

Two comments:
1) The headline is misleading as she slammed Iran mightily while she only made a comment about a U S Hose bill that prohibited low level discussion with Iran.
2) What on earth would possess a sane person to get within a hemisphere of Iran if they didn't have to be there?

Dung in lieu of brains would be an improvement for any imbecile stupid enough to hike along the border of two hostile nations during war time.
I hope she does not reproduce; her or any of these utterly expendable showboat ‘hikers’.
