BY MALIA ZIMMERMAN - News that President Barack Obama arrived in Hawaii this weekend to join his wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha in time for a Christmas holiday has been covered by news media worldwide.
The first family and their friends have been enjoying a reclusive 17-day holiday vacation in beach front homes in Kailua, Oahu.
But another powerful politician is here for the holidays as well, albeit on another island and with less media attention.
Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, who served as Speaker of the House and is now head of the House minority, is once again spending her Christmas at the exotic Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka'upulehu in Kona on the island of Hawaii.
Pelosi reportedly plans to spend her Christmas Eve at midnight mass in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona.
Pelosi, who travels to Hawaii by private plane, spent the last two Christmas holidays in Kona at the same hotel in an elaborate suite that rents for $10,000 a night.

Had fun with the smattering of occupy whatever clowns that stand out on the main highway holding up their pet peeve sings on Mondays by holding up my own "Impeach Hussein" sign in the window. Heard some laughter, and some grumbling. Piss be on them.......
As I understand it, only her Bishop has the right to excommunicate her. When she is receiving Communion in other dioceses, those priests are on their own. Having been an Eucharistic minister, I can tell you that it would be very awkward. How would the Eucharistic minister (who is not always the priest) know whether she'd repented and received absolution from her priest and the EM hadn't been told? And there is a long line beind her. It would be a logistical nightmare from a practical standpoint. This is just a personal observation -- not an official Catholic teaching.
Of course when the line is stopped and Nancy is abruptly escorted from the church by the ushers, the dancing and cheering of the other parishioners would be hard to control. That might cause "scandal" in the press. Catholics don't approve of scandal and try to avoid it at all costs.
Nobody wants to piss off the Queen Bee, so she gets communion.
I hope they all die! Natural deaths,...of course! And soon!
Great, great picture. Loved it! Especially the “waterboarding” with Perrier.
[Note: Pele (pronounced pay-lay) is the goddess of fire, lightning, wind, and volcanoes. She is a popular figure in many stories of ancient Hawaii known as Hawaiian mythology.]
hummmmmm.
WHO PROVIDED THE PRIVATE JET???
are we permitted to know, as it may affect the way she will vote on issues?? is someone buying her off???
just wondering..............
