Is it possible the gunman is an illegal?

it's California. odds are likely. probably a gang-banger illegal with mile long list of prior arrests just doing the shooting of purple heart recipients Americans are unwilling to do.

It must be said that both the shooter & Christopher Sullivan are both Mexican Americans. Mexican is a nationality, not an ethnicity. There are many White Mexicans & Latin Americans-the Creoles who are 100% Spaniard, along with Portuguese & Basques. There are also Italian Mexicans & many blonde haired blue eyed Mexicans. Most Mexicans are Mestizo-Spaniard & sometimes Basque mixed with Amerindian. & there are Irish Mexicans. Judging from the pictures, both the shooter & the victim an Afgan war hero are Mestizo. With Christopher Sullivan, he survived Afghanistan & it would be a shame if he ends up paralyzed. Hope Christopher Sullivan can walk & take part in MMA.

As to whether the shooter Ruben Ray Jurado self-defense story is true or trash, that will have to be for a jury (jurado means jury in Spanish) to decide. I do want to say since you raised illegal aliens is that our 1 way street to help Mexico goes back to 1866 when President Johnson sent thousands of soldiers under Gen. Sheridan to the Rio Grande & told the French to leave Mexico under war declaration threat. Since that time, we’ve helped Mexico-such as outsourcing jobs (American companies do business in Mexico) & gotten little in return. The U.S. helping illegal aliens from Mexico is part of the mostly 1 way street of helping Mexico & whether we have a Republican or Democrat, I don’t expect our 1 way street to helping Mexico to change. Former President George HW Bush is sympathetic to illegal aliens.
