Wow AB....so very glad you got the Kindle thing.

I’ve been wrestling with getting this thing, for, not to sound like an old-timer, but I do like having a book in my hand.

Perhaps even more so, I really have this thing about going into that library thing and checking out some books. For those electronic books you have to pay for books you want to read! I am waiting for the gubmint to finance the checking out of temporary Ebooks like is done at the library.

The gubmint, for its part, well first there’s the obvious in that downloadable books isn’t quite the same as a “real” book, I get that. As far as I’m concerned the gubmint didn’t want these e-readers to gain consumer traction because....well what about libraries? Y’all know how the gubmint hates to lose its power. Libraries are in every community, as part of the American fabris as most anything. With the advent of E-readers and books, they saw the notion of libraries flying out the window.

To add to my torment over this issue, doesn’t Obama’s stiumulus money makes its way to Sussex county, Delaware, into the hands of some friend of Obama, probably that contractor who helped Michelle Obame repay that fake Soup Lady but I go off....

But they build this huge library in Georgetown, Delaware and no ordinary business would ever, EVER, have done such a thing. There’s such a thing as handwriting on the wall and any fool could see that E-readers were going to kill the old library concept just as libraries pretty much put the kabosh on corner book stores.

Point here, as I state the obvious, the politicos were looking out for their political gain instead of that common sense/making a buck thing that drives the engine of capitalistic. Even if I’m a lone world out here in pajama world, I’m going to keep pointing this out.

So we got this Taj Mahal thing in Georgetown, Delaware....huge...takes up one whole city sized block! I suppose I am to be awed by the wonder of it but folks, THIS WAS HOW THAT STIMULUS MONEY FROM OBAMER GOT SPENT!!!

The man just went out and spread the bucks to repay those who paid for his campaign and to insure the same in the future.

So here’s me, a citizen, a lover of the book, even with a hand at the words, knowing that libraries are probably going away. In answer to gripes by the citizenry like mine, the response was that the Georgetown, Delaware Taj Mahal (serious, it has these miniret things that look like something from India) will be used as a meeting place with the turn of the tide in how books get read.

It sure would be nice to have a little, oh...cubicle perhaps, much like Obamer’s hated ATM things. I take my new Kindle fire and I scan the total of all reading material ever written, something possible today that the old libraries could never do. I choose my books, I go up to the checkout....and hey, somebody will have to come up with how this could be handled. A self-destruct file after so many days? This is America, something could be figgered out.

The Elibrary could be financed through my taxes, like today’s old libraries, thus my taxes. I don’t have to pay a feee for my reading material, save thru the taxes, I read more, I’m not robbing banks while I read, I’m learning and spreading what I read, I’m diverse, I’m a good citizen....

It was only a matter of time for no matter how the politicos who would ban such as E-readers and E-books entirely that capitalism would win.

For even though it might take a while, in the end people will find a way around their crap. Especially Americans.

Meanwhile we got a Taj Mahal in Georgetown, Del, a burg you drive through in a span of 1.5 minutes.

The trick here is for us dummies to finally figure out what they’re doing.

All that over your new E-reader AB. I was just feeling philosphical but so long as the only way I get free books is thru the political old style libraries then they maybe have me.

I don’t think so judging by the new rage to get these Ereaders, the ease of use.

When they get those new taxpayer funded library kiosks set up I shall buy one.

Well I've been using an ereader for awhile now as I have had an Android phone for almost two years now. With it I can read books in any format and I have a program on the computer to change different formats such as pdf’s doc's, epubs, etc. It's pretty cool! Before the Droid I was using the ereader on the computer here. Then again I've been a computer professional since BEFORE the PC.

This Kindle Fire thing is cool because it does color, music and video. It's basically a tablet PC and and because it's Amazon you have direct access to million of books and videos, as well as the Internet, which is inexhaustible!
