It turns out that the drug violence is confined to the drug corridors. Somehow I don't find that too reassuring. Is there a map of the free-fire zones?

The popular coastal towns are generally safe. Avoid the areas that are in the major north-south corridors. Note how Puerto Vallarta is off the corridor, but Mazatlan is on it. Cabo and Cancun would also appear safe.

I have a cousin who spent most of her life in Latin America, she was running a charcoal plant in semi-rural Mexico, off of the beaten path, away from drug corridors.
She ended up having to leave rather quickly for "health" reasons, and mourns the loss of her house, all of her worldly possessions that wouldn't fit in a couple suitcases, and most of all her dogs.
She doesn't feel it is safe enough for her to mount a rescue operation for her dogs.
She's not one to panic, she spent years living in Columbia...

I'm pretty certain those maps are on the table right next to the cartel mortar pits.

Is there a map of the free-fire zones? You'll find it in your local library stacked right next to the free-fire zone map of Hades.
