So, if Trump runs as an independent (self-financed, I would imagine), I think his schtick will be to appeal to the “birther” crowd.
Then if Ron Paul goes indy 3rd Party as well, that’ll peel off some of the Libertarians.
Yep..........hello second term for President Obama. Looks like we have another 4 years of taxpayer-funded Hawaiian vacations and globetrotting with Air Force One to look forward to.
It’s the Republican Party fault. If they had a spine, then this would not be happening. If they were more concerned with what their voters thought, than the media and press this would not be happening.
Ross Perot gave the election to Clinton. The first step into the abyss....
How can a guy who seemingly declares bankruptcy once a year have enough money to do anything? He couldn’t run on borrowed money, could he?

It appears the elites who really wield power behind the scenes in this country have decided Obama will have a second term just like they decided George H.W. Bush would be a one term president. Ross Perot ran in 1992 and 1996 knowing he would split the GOP vote and ensure a Clinton presidency. Now it is appearing likely Trump will run to ensure the GOP candidate fails.
No doubt the internal polls show Obama will lose running against virtually anyone in a two person race. However, Trump has name recognition and many conservatives are disgusted enough with the GOP establishment dissing the Tea Party to vote for a perceived viable alternative. Perot actually drew 19% of the vote in 1992 and 8.4% in 1996. Trump should easily capture at least 10% as a 3rd party which will allow Obama to win the election with 41% or possibly less of the popular vote assuming most of the Trump votes come from independents and disaffected Republicans who would vote for the GOP in a 2 way race.
Trump is a colorful character but is definitely part of the elite establishment. He would not run if he thought his business interests would be harmed by a campaign he knows he cannot win. If he throws his hat in the ring we will know the elites have met behind the curtain and anointed the Donald as a spoiler. He will gladly put on a show for the sheeple and then enjoy the profits from the business deals he’ll be promised to play the role. Perhaps George Soros will be the first to drop a big check in Trump’s Swiss bank account.
