“Your logic excuses Germans who left for other parts after WWII. Do you realize that?”

No, it doesn’t. Under international treaty there is no statute of limitations for war crimes, genocide, or crimes against humanity.

You don’t understand the Statute of Limitations, and are wrong again. Fleeing the jurisdiction stops the clock. The sixth amendment wasn’t written by liberals, but has obviously been misinterpreted by one, namely you.

So what constructive purpose is there in imprisoning an old man for crimes that took place forty and fifty years ago?

Because he still owes you and I and the family of his murdered victim 22 years of imprisonment........pretty simple really. And I haven't even mentioned the attached sentence that will be assessed once convicted of the airline hijacking.......

Seriously, if this man is sent back to the USA it will mean a virtual death sentence. Is that what you want?

Care to elaborate? My guess is that he will be welcomed with open arms by any prison society comprised of fellow convicted murderers of the Black Panthers......

Whatever. Portugal told the USA that they’re not interested in sending an old man back to the USA to spend the rest of his life in prison. They’re a sovereign country and they have the right to do what they want within their borders and I respect their rights the same way I want them to respect ours when we eventually do something they don’t like.

Nearly 3,500 African Americans were lynched in the United States between 1882 and 1968

You failed to mention the 1,300 whites who were lynched also.

You really don't want to turn this into a political issue do you?

The guy is a murderer and if not for the racial sensitivity at the time he was initially convicted, it's likely he would have received the death penalty and been sent to prison rather than a "farm"..where he should have been sent in the beginning thus eliminating any possibility of his escape.

He is now a product of your liberal judicial system that you are hopelessly trying to defend.

This guy is a convicted murderer who killed an innocent father of a family while robbing a gas station. Later, when he became “political” he committed the crime of terrorism. Justice demands that he be punished for these crimes.
The United States does indeed deport criminals, including our own citizens, when they have been convicted of crimes in other western democracies.
This guy is hooked up, married to a former general’s daughter. There is a good chance that the judges were bought.
Admittedly, having to stay forever in broke, parochial, deadbeat, quasi-Third World Portugal is a kind of punishment in itself. But the gas station employee has been dead for half a century; it is just not fair that his killer has been walking around all this time. You go there if you want. Since moral and cultural relativism is your creed, you will be most welcome.

“Nearly 3,500 African Americans were lynched in the United States between 1882 and 1968.”

I call BS. Not to mention, more white people are killed by black people each YEAR than that.

“I call BS.”

You’re on the internet and you’re not able to verify a figure all on your own? You feel free to call BS all you want and I’ll feel free to ask why you don’t know how to use a computer.

The 3,500 figure is a statistic, which can never be wrong. /ridicule

I reject social justice. It is vendetta.

IF the US is going to base its legalities on the tin pot caprice of Pol Pot justice and Idi Amin tyranny, let it be on notice that we know those rules, or lack thereof, too.

“Whatever”. Typically airheaded, teenaged girl response to reason.
As for lynching, New Jersey had two during the era you mentioned. One black and one white. So much for your racist assertion that this murderer was a victim of racism.

I googled convicted russian murderer and armed robber who escaped from prison, hijacked a plane, extorted a million bucks and fled to the U.S. and didn’t get any responses. So much for that load of BS you tried to sell.

Yes, Portugal does have the authority to refuse to extradite convicted murderers because it is a sovereign state. That doesn’t mean that anyone must like that or respect it. You are probably comfortable with what Cuba does to it’s citizens under the guise of sovereignty, aren’t you?

You are a liberal who should be zotted from this site.

You’re on the Internet and unable to provide a link to your BS statement? I’ll feel free to ask why you don’t know how to use a computer and provide such a link.

What a racist clown.

“The 3,500 figure is a statistic, which can never be wrong. /ridicule”

Slight correction: It is an anti-white, pro-black statistic so it cannot be wrong, at least not to liberals.

black men were routinely killed on the street back then for things they didn’t do

Do you have documentation for that assertion? Something other than the New York Times, Utne Reader or Mother Jones.

"Nearly 3,500 African Americans were lynched in the United States between 1882 and 1968. That’s about one racially motivated murder per week for eighty six years."

You seem pretty good with statistics.

How many whites were murdered by blacks in the last five years?
