The Mexican Government did this for decades. Officially, there was no censorship. Unofficially, it was understood that the more a newspaper criticized the ruling PRI party, the more it would find that its orders for newsprint had been “misplaced.” Or “misfilled” with rolls of paper that wouldn’t fit its printing presses. Or filled with newsprint that was “damaged” in shipping.
It’s similar to what the leftwing St. Louis Post Dispatch did to its rival the rightwing Globe Democrat... they shared the same printing house and the Post’s union guys would sabotage the presses so the rival paper’s colors were offset, etc.
There is official censorship, they passed a Media Law not too long ago that gave government a lot of power. The Kirchners already turned the schools into indoctrination centers long ago.
