We tried that here in Alaska. When we got a real conservative republican nominated for Senate the State and National Repubs joined forces to defeat him. The coalition of democrats, unions and natives put the most liberal republican (Lisa murkowski) back in the senate with the help of the establishment republicans. I no longer am a registered republican thanks to that eye opening experience.
I hang up on the GOP myself when they call for contributions.
You don’t think they are going to give up control of the party without a struggle. Look what they did and are continuing doing in Madison, Wisconsin. I don’t see any difference between both establishment parties. One is on steroids 78 RPM’s, the other on 33 1/3 same direction.
