Citizens United running Iowa ads featuring Gingrich
The Hill ^ | 12/22/2011 | Cameron Joseph

Citizens United, a conservative outside group, is running $250,000 of advertising in Iowa promoting a Ronald Reagan documentary featuring Newt Gingrich, The Hill has confirmed.

The ad will run Thursday and Friday and then be back up after Christmas for a week, according to a group spokesperson.

Gingrich has worked with the group on multiple projects and is close to its head, David Bossie. But group spokesperson David Marschner denied that they were running the ad to help Gingrich, and insisted the move was just business. "It's for movie sales — Iowans are tuned in right now," he said, and pointed out the group ran a similar ad in August with Michele Bachmann around the time of the Iowa straw poll.

Gingrich has been bombarded with negative ads in Iowa and has not responded in kind, causing his poll numbers to nosedive in the state. Any positive spots featuring him are likely to help, and the ad reinforces a connection Gingrich has stressed between himself and Reagan.

Newt’s a RINO and I am not supporting Romney. Newt has sold out conservatives and America at every turn to keep his CFR membership with his pal Clinton.

While in the House - Newt voted for:
1. Dept of Education - something communists supported.
2. Amnesty
3. Increased UN funding
4. Grabbing more land for Federal ownership filled with natural resources - something Marx also supported.
5. Voted for more foreign aid.
6. Voted for most favored nation trading status for China.
7. Federally funded loan guarantees for trade with China.
8. Voted for funding the NEA - including p**s Christ artwork
9. $1.2 billion in extra aid to the UN for peacekeeping.
10. $166 million in extra funding for the IRS.
11. Campaigned for and supported Nelson Rockefeller.
12. Got GATT/WTO voted in by allowing lame duck Congress to get it passed.
13. Repealed Glass-Steagall with Bill Clinton allowing banks to become securities firms with 40 to 1 leverage. This is how the banks blew up.

Post the House
1.Newt campaigned for RINO Dede Scofazza who then endorsed the Democrat in NY state.
2.Newt made a commercial with Pelosi supporting the Global Warming fraud.
3.Newt came out in favor of amnesty

I once came across Newt’s PAC paperwork where he would raise money for conservatives. It was a slush fund for Newt, his pals and his wife. The current wife.

He is NOT a conservative at all.

If the ad at the link is the one CU is running, I don’t see how that helps Newt. All it does is promote the documentary and that is about it. I don’t understand why he needed to split the sales job with his wife as well. I also find it ironic that the dude that said the Era of Reagan is over is now pushing a documentary that seems to promote how relevant his ideals are today. It is weird.

So he points out Gingrich’s record and you slam him??

Newt is bad news for conservatives (and Republicans).

I support Santorum. Or Bachmann. Or Palin. Or Cain.

I would support Romney (holding my nose) before Newt.

Newt is Romney without ethics.

“I would support Romney (holding my nose) before Newt.”

Then you have no credibility.... and you might as well vote for Obama.

No, he’s getting slammed because he’s a newbie spamming the same thing on every thread that mentions Gingrich.

I lived through Nixon. He was a ‘conservative’ who had no ethics. We has still not recovered from his election.

Like Nixon, Newt cares only about himself.

I still would like to know what the poster said that wasn’t true. Plus ‘the Ryan plan is just right wing social engineering.’

Newt said that this year.
