Deportation could split up lesbian Vt. couple
AP/Yahoo ^ | 12/22/11

Frances Herbert and her wife, Takako Ueda, were looking forward to the New Year's Eve family concert at the Baptist Church, the town fireworks on the pond and then a night at home to celebrate the arrival of 2012.

But federal immigration authorities have told Ueda she needs to leave the United States for her native Japan by Dec. 31, a move that would split up a couple who have been together more than a decade and were married under Vermont law in April.

Their relatively rare case illuminates the difficulties that binational gay couples face at a time when the Obama administration has pledged not to uphold federal marriage law in courts but the rest of the executive branch — including immigration authorities — still follows the letter of the law.

Federal immigration authorities demand extensive documentation showing that a binational couple claiming to be married really are: witness statements, property records, utility and other household bills showing both names and the like often are required. Herbert said she and Ueda submitted 600 pages of such evidence with their application.

"It's despicable," Herbert said. "We had 600 pages of proof, and 599 of them were completely ignored. One line on one page" — the one that said they were both women — "is what they paid attention to."

So “binational” is the new word for married to an illegal?

Every time the left wants to attack something the first thing they do is redefine words to obscure what the true nature is of the thing they want to attack.

"It's despicable," Herbert said. "We had 600 pages of proof, and 599 of them were completely ignored. One line on one page" — the one that said they were both women — "is what they paid attention to."

The scientific method scores with one counterexample.

Lesbians - 0

Reality refuses to be remolded into Ms. Herbert's perverted image. I am sick and tired of narcissists demanding that the real world be recreated to conform to their insane, destructive fantasies. At best they are spoiled rotten childen in adult bodies.

The new mantra of binational lesbians:

“I’m a US citizen trapped in an illegal alien’s body.”

Dont care what the enemy calls it —it ain’t “marriage” I will NEVER surrender of my own free will to call what is NOT “marriage” anything similar /or equal to “marriage” the reprobate sodomites have ONLY the power ceded by their already captured liberal establishment, and the press.Until God calls it a “marriage” and the Holy Scripture a LIE I cannot surrender.

If she’s Japanese then coming to the US is no problem ,, just go home to Japan for 1 week every 6 months ... The US is then a 5 month 3 week vacation address.

Student visa expired and she decided to break the law and stay here; so she’s now here illegally.

She entered the US on a STUDENT visa? Sounds more like a mail-order bride.

If she has been ‘working’ for ten years - perhaps she could have re-applied for a ‘permanent green-card visa’ and her ‘partner’ sponsored her as a ‘character’ witness.

Just like any other illegal alien, she should be frogmarched to the shore and kicked in the ass. Go back to your own country, you interloper!

Yea, boo hoo. Like they didn’t know the potential consequences and now we’re supposed to feel sorry for them. The japanese woman could have gotten her citizenship and none of this would be happening. Instead she chose to remain in an illegal status.

Why are we wasting space on this tripe?

Don't you love how hard the press works to make them seem like a wholesome, all American family who should be tending the nursery at church and adopting kids of their own?

JAPAN INTRODUCES ID CARDS TO SNIFF OUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS By Alice Kok | 2 March 2009

The Japanese government plans to strengthen its efforts to prevent foreigners from staying in the country illegally by consolidating administrative systems for foreign residents in the nation, according to a draft bill to revise the immigration law.

The plan to revise the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Law states that the justice minister will issue new residence cards for “aliens” staying in Japan for the mid- to long-term.

The current Alien Registration Certificates—a compulsory card for all foreigners staying in Japan for more than 90 days—will be abolished, and foreigners will instead use the new cards as identification.

The draft bill also includes provisions to imprison or deport people who forge the envisaged cards.

The new cards will carry the foreigner’s name, date of birth, gender, nationality, address, status of residence and period of stay. Foreign residents must report to the Immigration Bureau any changes such as to their place of employment, school or address.

Under the current law, foreign residents are required to report such changes only to municipal governments. However, this system has bogged down attempts by the Immigration Bureau to keep a comprehensive track of foreign residents.

The revised law will also allow the bureau to investigate, on a voluntary basis, institutions and other bodies that are responsible for helping foreigners enter the country.

To reduce the time and paperwork involved in renewal procedures, the draft bill calls for extending the period of stay to five years for aliens who are currently allowed to stay in Japan for up to three years.

The bill also includes a provision to create a new status of residence for aliens coming to Japan on the government’s foreign trainee system. It stipulates that the Minimum Wages Law and other labour-related laws will be applied to such foreign trainees.

Meanwhile, the status of residence for international students will no longer be divided into “college students”, who attend a college or advanced vocational school, and “pre-college students,” who attend a high school or Japanese language school. Under the new system, the two categories will be integrated to allow foreign students to skip procedures to change their status of residence when they go on to higher education.
