Allahpundit's spin on it...
It would be a good tactic for Newt to employ...

I am now officially supporting Newt. Not with money or anything, but I would willingly vote for him if the alternative is Myth, and it looks like that's pretty much the way it is.
At least he's not the Beltway's candidate.

In general I think this is a good idea, but if it gets ugly in a debate during the holidays, it could backfire on them both.

Time to kick some Mitt ass!!!! The MSM, Bachman, Santorium and Paul have sat on the sidelines letting this slick salesman get away with murder.
As Mitt says, “it’s time to man-up”. Bring it on Romney!

Cowardly Romney wouldn’t even go on the Fox News All Star Panel.

And even if Newt decided to run ads about it, the likely beneficiary as Romney suffers and slumps in the polls would be Ron Paul, not Gingrich.Even if Allahpundit's spin on this were correct and Ron Paul were the beneficiary, this would still be a good strategy. Stalling Romney's momentum out of the gate would help ensure a longer, drawn out primary process which would almost certainly be to Newt's benefit. Romney's phony image would shatter under protracted scrutiny.

The Iowa Caucus is corrupt anyway. The left registers GOP then votes for the one they want to run against their candidate. It’s been going on since Bob Dole.
