Socialists only care about their own power. This is why they funnel confiscated money to friends who give that money back to the campaign while telling everyone that they care about the environment.

As with the millions of problem-driven government programs, the goal of the program is never to solve the problem, the goal is always to expand the program and its attendant power and funding.
