It hasn’t been that many years ago that was exactly happened, especially in rural America. I’m not that old (well, I don’t think I am, lol) and can remember two funerals that had the viewing in the home
in my childhood.
I guess since both birth and death occurred at home, the whole family participated in the experience. There was no mystery involved in going to a hospital and returning with a baby...or going to a hospital and never returning. It was all a family experience. Maybe the Santorum’s are of that mind set.
As far as sleeping with the child, if it gave them comfort, so be it.

Sadly, the Santorums will be ridiculed for something that is very personal by the liberal media, and made out to be extremest religious kooks.
