Not really. The House voted for a one year cut. The Senate voted for a 1/6 year cut.

The average guy out there who is going to have to pay the tax sees it that way ~ and what's he going to get out of it?

There's going to be no Social Security benefit for the overwhelming majority of those charged FICA today.

The Democrats actually think the general public is concerned with SS ~ that time has come and GONE. They are very much concerned with their take home pay ~ if they are working.

Did you realize this is not an issue at all for the 20 million young people who are now into their fourth year of unemployment!

I am not saying it is a good bill. I am just saying they lose politically after 89 Senators including a lot of Republicans voted for the bill. They just didn’t have their act together and they would have been better off punting with the two month extension.
