I heard it on 98 rock and wbal on the way in this morning. I started listening to him about 10 years ago when i got tired of only rock stations. he was a great alternative to the Repub party only voices out there. He was independent and conservative. His topics were not limited to politics only.
He would discuss any current events.
I thought it was interesting that the hosts on 98 rock were talking about their experiences with him and how influential he was. (they are not conservative)
I was upset when they moved him from the afternoon drive-time to other slots. It kind of makes sense now with health problems. A week or two the Ravens gave him the game ball.

He will truly be missed in the area.

They have setup a foundation in his name for cancer research.

RIP Ron

I know that Mickey often sat by Ron’s side during Ron’s show when it was on in the afternoon and just kind of took it in. No idea what the guy’s politics are, but I know he really admired Smith’s professionalism and thoughfulness. I haven’t listened to Mickey and Amelia in a long, long time, but I’d imagine he learned a thing or two just by watching.
