The noose continues to tighten around the neck of the few liberties left to us here behind the enemy lines.

Communism is as Communism does. And abolishment of private property rights is a cornerstone of Communism.

I live in Annapolis and read this. Can somebody smarter than me give me the cliff notes on what to expect from this. Sorry I seriously read the article but ti seems confusing to me. This was written purposely to ensure that this does not get traction with the Maryland population. (I think).

Glendening, who has long been a smart growth advocate, said the tension has resulted from the traditional reliance on local decision making and concepts of private property. "That worked fine for several hundred years," Glendening, who was governor from 1995 to 2003, said. "Now what we're recognizing is that our resources are finite _ that we cannot sustain decisions made on those principles _ and so you can't expect to immediately throw those principles out, but you can put some guidelines that start making better local decisions and then starts making better use of property."Yes private property is such an antiquated concept. We should do away with it immediately.

I’m for this. Keep Maryland as forested as possible. There is plenty of urban decay in need of revitalization. The last thing MD needs is to become N Va.
