The long-suffering wife of shamed former IMF boss Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been voted Woman of the Year in a new poll in France.
Millionairess Anne Sinclair, 63, won the annual award for her loyalty and courage in the face of her husbands catalogue of humiliating sex scandals.
The former TV presenter stood by Strauss-Kahn after he was arrested for allegedly trying to rape a New York chambermaid.
Anne Sinclair, who has been crowned France's Woman of the Years, supported her husband, Dominique Strauss-Kahn through his sexual assault charges But Ms Sinclair was praised for her tenacity and unwavering support for her husband in the face of adversity in the survey by pollsters CSA for Frances Terrafemina magazine.
Terrafemina spokeswoman Veronique Morali said: 'Anne Sinclair is both a heroine and a kind of anti-heroine for women in France.
'Women look at the problems they face in their own lives and seem to identify with her.'
Runner-up: France's Economy Minister Christine Lagarde came in second place
She remained devoted to 62-year-old economist even when he faced accusations on his return to France of sexually abusing a young French writer.
He then confessed to taking part in orgies after he was named in connection with an underage prostitution racket in Lille, northern France.
A succession of vice girls then came forward alleging they had had sex with Strauss-Kahn at swingers parties.
One claimed he liked rough sex while another told how he even invited her to his office at the headquarters of the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC.
Socialist party leader Martine Aubry came in third, followed by extreme right-wing National Front leader Marine Le Pen.

Insane.
Bill Clinton is smiling.
They’re all swine.

Over THIS???

What were they THINKING?
For what? Just leave him already.
she looks pretty good.... considering...
oops.
Bruni is my roll model.
After all, what woman wouldn't want to be Mrs. Rutting Chimpanzee?
Has Nafissatou Diallo moved into the maid's quarters yet?
Our First Lady seems to be of a different psyche...lol
You do have to wonder about a culture who would admire a woman who “takes it” as she has. Have French women no pride or self-respect?
Well, it at least shows that France is not pitiless.
The French have nothing on the US version, Bill Clinton and his talking member.
Thanks Cincinna.
America beat that by a long shot: We made hillary a United States Senator.
And how about that long-suffering Marie Antoinette?
The French... *sigh*
French women are raised in a culture that does not respect women., and they grow up narcissistic and superficial. The French woman’s answer to infidelity is, instead of prayer, or counseling, is to do it herself, go out and buy stuff, encourage her husband’s activities if it will help her socially and/or politically.
“Dangerous Liasons” is a great film that is as true today, as when it was written hundreds of years ago.
French men have a reputation for “loving” women. Italian men have much more respect for women.
Moochelle-Antoinette doesn’t have worry about Barry & women ;}
PIAPS got a lot if mileage out of Slick’s abuse of women. First, US Senator, then Sec’y of State. Who knows what the future holds; my feeling is she is not yet finished screwing the American people.
Anne Sinclair was a beautiful woman, extremely successful on TV, with her highest rated interview show 7/7. She has the bluest eyes I have ever seen. Women copied her style, clothes, and jewelry, and then....
She met the “great seducer” himself DSK who was a mere college professor. She left her husband and children for him with the goal of making DSK President of France. She is one of the greatest enablers in history.
I guess French women are truly on their own in a culture that does not respect women. That’s a shame.
In some respect, the fact that they “go out and buy stuff, encourage her husbands activities if it will help her socially and/or politically.”...there is a certain insecurity that goes with that. I’m glad that I’m not in that position.
“Moochelle-Antoinette doesnt have worry about Barry & women ;}”
LOL! That’s a “just sayin’” moment. ;o)
