I love Sarah Palin but I don’t like people not jumping in from the very beginning. Just rubs me the wrong way.

Why? The party sets nearly all the rules, and all of them enable and empower the party, not necessarily the candidate. It’s about time the voter had something to say about who gets a nomination, and when.

The "very beginning" these days is about three years before the actual election (although Romney has been running since about 2006). That rubs me the wrong way. I think people ought to be able to "jump in" at any time it appears that there is an opening.
