Almost all companies today are going to smaller displacement turbocharged engines.

Saab did that over 30 years ago, when almost no other car company did.

Saab was also advancing front wheel drive, long before it became widespread.

Several features of Saab interiors are smart and useful.

GM has killed Oldsmobile, Saturn, Pontiac and Saab.

During that time, Toyota has started Lexus, Scion and soon to be a full brand, Prius.

The problem wasn’t inherently Saab, rather GM’s failure as a multi-brand auto company.

At GM the major strategy is badging. Badging fails, and GM needs government help.

GM couldn’t continue with Saab, when the all important Volt needed funding.

My wife will tell you her Saab was among her favorite alltime cars.

A friend in my 1969 Iowa City days owned a two stroke Saab that had over 200,000 miles on the clock. Yeah, there was a whisp of smoke that followed the car but he still owned it last time I was in town for a football game about five years ago.
