Didn’t Boehner already use the “nailing jello to the wall” comparison when dealing with Obama during the debate to extend the debt limit ceiling? Gee, Schumer can’t you make up your own analogies or are you just going the Biden route?

Personally, I think this is a trait of all modern politicians. They never want what they have done to come back and affect them negatively, so they try to weasel their way through difficult issues while trying not to tick off 50+% of their voting electorate.

Yup, and Rush just talked about that on his show.

First thing I thought as well..

In a meeting with a small group of reporters in his Capitol Hill office this morning, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, criticized President Obama and White House officials for their lack of resolve in negotiations.

Dealing with them the last couple months has been like dealing with Jell-o,” Boehner said. “Some days it’s firmer than others. Sometimes it’s like they’ve left it out over night.” Boehner explained that talks broke down over the weekend because, he said, the president backed off entitlement reforms so much from Friday to Saturday, “It was Jell-o; it was (*)(*)(*)(*) near liquid.”
