—or did you mean that at Verga?
The latter.
We live in the area also. Actually in 2010 Ernest Ammons had been working for the district for 6.5 years. He made $49,017 in Salary and his “benefits” were valued at an additional $17,520, this does not include any extra compensation that he may have received.
Your estimate was pretty close. Teachers in the Kent School district have 11.5 years in the district on average, meaning that most of them make considerably more than Mr. Ammons.
What a well thought out and ratinal response with out resorting to the leftist emotional irrational tactics. /SARC
They watch the government schools like hawks.
I would hope that the parents care enough about thier own progency to watch for signs of problems. This would include difficulty with homework, grades and life in general.
Thank you for the personal attack, according Free Republic "rules" I will take the automatic win.
50 hours isnt a very long work week (go talk to a farmer, or a machinist, or even a fast food manager) and private sector jobs outside of banking have nowhere near the holidays government workers get, let alone summers off.
I Know what machinists and engineers make. That is how I paid my way through school with out benefit of government loans. I worked full time and went to school almost full time and carried a 3.96 QPA for two Bachelors and 2 Masters degrees.
Nor will you see many private sector jobs with retirement benefits even in the same solar system with their government counterparts. I have a book written in the twenties about how to lie with statistics. The first, third, and sixth rules are all Always use averages; never, ever, use the mean. Do enlighten us all. What do you make including benefits, and what is the mean income for an adult in your state.
I earn about 45,000 per year, (For the past 5 years, our salaries hafve been frozen for that long. Not complaining simply stating a fact.) I get Health insurance, and have to pay for my wifes. This includes a $10o-pay for prescriptuions.I also get a 10K life insurance plan. I have to pay my own dental. Myretirement is 60% of my final average salary after 20 years. I will be able to collect that when I am 67.
As an Engineer I would have been able to retire at age 57 with a heck of a lot more including full medical dental, and 500K life insurance. I would also have been making almost double. Oh and according to this website: http://www.payscale.com/research/US/State=Virginia/Salary I am at athe low end of the salary range, but I already knew that. And as for that myth of Summers offI still put in 20-25 hours per week, that is how I am able to to getr my weekly hours DOWN to around 50/ week
Do you are asserting that you have been unfairly accused of sexual misconduct with a child?
How did this come about? And by who?
I have never been accused of any sort of misconduct, sexual or otherwise. But I am tired of quite a few people on this forum lumping ALL teachers in with the whack jobs. Are all police officers corrupt? Do all Priests commit pedophilia? Certainly not but teachers are maligned quite a bit on this forum
And Seriously, if you truly believe that we teachers have it so good; Come on in, Get a teaching certificate and Masters degree within 5 years and join the ranks. We do need more conservatives voices.
The only thing you win is a prize for arrogance and egotism.
Here in Texas, the median income was 23,325 as of 2009.
You bounced in here and tried to make a thread about the damage to children by adults who sexually desire them all about you.
The world does not revolve around you, and at some point you will need to grow up and accept that.
These kids deserve to be protected.
To not be lumped in, you have to work within your profession to see to it that teachers self police.
Hy your attitude and defensiveness, and preemptive attack against those concerned with the child on this thread, that seems to be lightyears away from any approach you personally would make.
Yeah re-read the thread again it was YOU that asked about my income. Nice try with the Red Herring.
That is two logical fallacies you have resorted to. First the Personal attack (Ad hom) then the red herring.
You are right the children do need to be protected, but NOT EVERY teacher needs to be vilified and lumped in with the bad apples.
Again nice try, Please cite where I went on the attack, and as we all (Should) know defending is not the same as beeing defensive. It was YOU and YOU alone that went on the attack.
I pointed out that there is a way to tell.
You do make more than the private sector. You are in the top twenty five percent, as it happens, and all it takes to see that is to pull up the tax records. You are at almost twice the median.
I am looking to see where you commented on the damage to the kid from the sexual pursuit of the adult teacher in authority over her. It isn't there. There isn't even a hint of anything like that.
If you find yourself lumped in with sexual predators, it is exactly because of that revelation of your character which shows in your attitude in this conversation. Not because you are also a teacher.
You exhibit zero concern for the welfare of students over your own wealth and prestige.
Really take a look at Post 52, dang those pesky things called facts.

again witht he personal attacks, Nice try at diverting the topic. YOU and YOU alone made it about me. You aqsked about my salary and benefists and I showed YOU a site showing I am below average. Try showing factual citations and we can talk . If you consdieer this conversation over.
