I’m sure there are lots of words in the dictionary that are made up, silly words, like “humongous”, for instance. In quite recent times someone undoubtedly put horrible and terrific together and horrific was born. Lately everyone seems to like the sound of it because it gets used to describe all kinds of things.

Why don't you look up the word and its root for yourself?
