I still think the reason that Sarah did not run was because of death threats on her and possibly her family. If that’s the case its hard to find fault with her, IMHO. We have been over that a zillion times anyway.
Sort of. He has said he was not referring directly to the Ryan plan which had been approved by the House as part of the budget. When the firestorm erupted, Newt went into his usual spin mode and said he would have voted for the plan, but he had something better.
Thanks for the graph, let’s hope Beohner sees it. The politicians will raise taxes for the General Fund to pay back Social Security IOU’s.
Right its probably gonna be Mitt or Newt. I’ll take Newt pimples and all.
I bet it is beautiful in the winter..and the whole Christmas season!
Bavaria is heavily Catholic in history.
If you get a chance, buy some of the Christmas cookies called “Lebkuchen”, sepecially the Elsian Lebkuchen..Yuuuumy! Or the “Stollen”( Christmas fruitcake unlike ours, light and tasty).
May he RIP. He was not only principled, he was brave, being one of the few world leaders willing to publicly state that "global warming/climate change" was a fraud.
If the other Reps don’t do it, then you can be assured the Dems will if Newt becomes the nominee. They will have him spinning like a top I fear once he comes under their microscope.
Yes, at a certain point you wonder how much anyone is really going to read, and I’ll include my own postings when using a linked source copy/paste.
LOL!! Terrific!
Paying back Romney for his support is not a good thing.
And yes that is where consulting is fine, but if he’s also went to his political contacts to influence them to support or not support some legislation or regulation, that’s, at minimum, what needs clarification of the who, and for what.
Newt's specific criticism of Ryan's plan was that it was "too big a jump". At least that's what I see from the transcript.
REP. GINGRICH: Right.
MR. GREGORY: ...some premium support and--so that they can go out and buy private insurance?
REP. GINGRICH: I don't think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering. I don't think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate. I think we need a national conversation to get to a better Medicare system with more choices for seniors. But there are specific things you can do. At the Center for Health Transformation, which I helped found, we published a book called "Stop Paying the Crooks." We thought that was a clear enough, simple enough idea, even for Washington. We--between Medicare and Medicaid, we pay between $70 billion and $120 billion a year to crooks. And IBM has agreed to help solve it, American Express has agreed to help solve it, Visa's agreed to help solve it. You can't get anybody in this town to look at it. That's, that's almost $1 trillion over a decade. So there are things you can do to improve Medicare.
MR. GREGORY: But not what Paul Ryan is suggesting, which is completely changing Medicare.
REP. GINGRICH: I, I think that, I think, I think that that is too big a jump. I think what you want to have is a system where people voluntarily migrate to better outcomes, better solutions, better options, not one where you suddenly impose upon the--I don't want to--I'm against Obamacare, which is imposing radical change, and I would be against a conservative imposing radical change.
And bring it back, spotless, when you're done with it! That's real gold thread, and we know every stitch!!!
Und mir auch! However, thanks to you providing this thread, AB!, we're blessed with Gemütlichkeit year round!
There's a third option: A makeover. We gonna pimp our ride!
We added a lot of fresh, conservative talent into the House in 2010. We need more. We need to do the same to the Senate. We are starting to push ‘em back, and we need, especially right now, to not give up, but push HARDER.
Learn about the Republican candidates running in your local district/state primaries, and vote for the MOST conservative.
When Nov of 2012 comes, vote GOP.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
We're getting there.
Oh, I know, we never get tired of beating those poor ole dead horses.
I had not heard the death threat thing. That would give one pause with her sweet children. And there are lunatics as we well know.
I’m not mad at her at all. I just don’t think about her any more.
Looks like a cozy that fits over Audrey Jr in “Little Shop of Horrors.”
(The 1960 version)
Yessss!
True the old anal probe.
Our nominee regardless of who it is will get that 24/7.What I like about Newt is that he's playing scorched earth when they come after him. Every time they do he simply points out how zero is 10X worse than him! It's a great strategy and it will work! Obamas screw-ups are a huge minefield just wanting to blow up.
Does zero dare go to Newt's history when he basically has none. Except almost four years of one debacle after another all blamed on GW?
Hey I’ll take Newt’s consulting picadillos vs. Obamcare any ol’ day.HOw bout’ you?
