Sheiffer gave him time to talk!
GO GINGRICH!!!
Amazing how the President that likes to brag being a “job creating” President has done everything he can to kill jobs in this country.
I think he’s enjoying playing both sides of this to see which lobby...the Enviro Weenies or the Oil Companies donate the most $$$ to his campaign trying to influence him.
IMHO...he’ll take cash from both...then screw over the oil companies in the end and try to kill the pipeline.
(singing) “Go on take the money and run...”
You have a point. That wasn’t necessary. Nor was it necessary for Coulter to trash the Tea Party, either. Makes me think there is something else going on.
Whatever happens, I will support whoever wins the nomination. My preferences (in order) are Perry, Santorum, and Newt. Perry because he is not afraid to come out with both guns blazing, Santorum because he is good on terrorism and foreign policy, and Newt because I think he WILL follow Obama to every town and attack him.
Obama is the enemy. We need to remember that.
GOOD!
Be of good cheer. Christmas is coming!
“Obama is the enemy. We need to remember that.”
I wish someone would remind the Republican establishment...the Rockerfeller Republicans of that fact.
Let's be real. You don't get $1.6 million sweetheart consulting contracts without some quid pro quo. The revolving door in Washington is well known. Freddie Mac was paying for Newt's contacts, access, and knowledge of the system. Crony capitalism and influence peddling are the norm. Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae have been used as sinecures for Dem politicians like Franklin Raines, Rahm Emmanuel, and Jamie Gorelick to obtain millions of dollars. These GSEs should be broken up and eliminated.
Going to repeat myself here believing it should have been addressed by Newt, but Bachmann’s accusation of Newt influencing top Republicans went unanswered. Not that I am opposed to Newt, but he has been thorough in countering/clarifying any points against him, and he missed this one completely.
If Newt was just consulting, fine, if he was using his contacts in Washington to get a favored status for his client(s), that should be clarified by Newt first, and not coming from another source to be used by the media against him at a later time(think October Surprise).
Really sounds like it. Also sounds like she probably couldn't get elected any more in SC.

“The legislation undermines social security,” he said.
The payroll tax funds Social Security and the loss would be paid back over the next ten years.
Senator Kirk denied the charges by Democrats that he would be raising taxes because it was a “temporary gimmick,” he said. Congress reduced the payroll tax for one year from 6.2% to 4.2%.
Larry Summers, one of 2,500 bad appointees of the regime, never ending.
Undoubtedly, but do you see her as potus material or even VP material?
Sad, but it lets us know who needs “tending to” and who does not.
Yeah it’s going to get good if Democrats clue in on that last Republican debate and realize their candidate has a record to run on, and they could support someone to the left of that, of course there is little chance of a debate but like us, it will come down to the actual voting.
THe left is super slick, they have figured out every way shape and form they can to keep destroying the economy/country yet politically(and this is what its all about) look like they are for the little guy and against all the evil wealthy. If our side does not stand up to it a huge hole will be created financially that will become near impossible to climb out of.
You have really hit it here onyx!
The left and our side as well, are already distorting his income from fannie. They are using it any which way they can and the distortions are enormous. Probably so much so that Newt will be hard pressed to keep up with all the lies. Here is an area we can help him righting the lies. Especially Rush if he will.
As for Bachmann, I prefer the more conservative amateur over any of the perceived professionals, but any and all of them will have plenty of consultants, should appoint good conservatives, and they should observe us here at Free Republic for some excellent insight on the issues. She also was very good at pointing out using the Constitution as guidance.
Do you honestly believe that Newt's ability to get contracts worth close to $2 million dollars had nothing to do with his former government position and contacts? I worked for the USG for 36 years and live in the DC metro area. What Newt did is so prevalent and common that I can't fathom why anyone would believe otherwise. The revolving door in Washington is part of the rampant corruption that fuels Big Government and its control of close to 50% of our economy. Freddie and Fannie have been notorious in providing sinecures to politicians and for awarding sweetheart contracts. I live less than two miles from Freddie Mac's huge facility.
I won't say that Gingrich was to blame for the financial breakdown. However, it would be fair to say that Congress did not exercise the proper oversight, including during the time that Gingrich was in Congress and in a leadership role. If you believe what is in the article, "But as Speaker in 1995, according to news reports at the time, Mr. Gingrich helped to kill an effort by then House Budget Chairman John Kasich to impose user fees on Fannie and Freddie. The fees were intended to offset the cost advantage provided to the companies by their implicit government guarantee," a case could be made that he bears some responsibilty along with the rest of Congress and the WH. The Community Redevelopment Act was passed under Bush 41.
Gingrich is a crony capitalist taking advantage of his former government position and contacts. The article goes into some detail on Gingrich's role and support of the GSEs while in Congress and afterwords. Gingrich is a Big Government Rep whose real goal is make government run more efficiently and cheaply similar to Romney. Gingrich is not about to roll back the welfare state. He was a big supporter of the Medicare Prescription Drug expansion. He supports the GSEs. He supported cap and trade. The list goes on and on.
Just listen to the clip below of Newt's defense of why he supported the Medicare prescription drug program despite its huge unfunded liability costs. It is this kind of rationale by the politicians that are bankrupting this country.
You cannot marginalize the Tea Party with that argument. True each local Tea Party group has it’s own way—it’s called “grassroots” but one can always count on solid conservatism as the uniting force so if you speak true conservatism—like Mitt Romney is a fraud—you can safely assume you speak for the Tea Party as a whole.
Another really important post.
This is what the regime has in mind for zero. Play both sides and in the end screw over the pipeline.
IF we can't stop this or at least expose what he is doing we will have failed big time.
