House Republicans are in full revolt in the wake of Senate passage of a two-month payroll tax holiday package, casting serious doubt on the fate of a bill that already has President Barack Obamas approval.
Republican leaders were warned that they could expect a rebellion if lawmakers are forced to vote on the Senate version of the bill, according to a source on the line. After the call, its not clear whether Republican leaders will try to pass the bill with a combination of Republican and Democratic votes or try another version and bring the Senate back to town. Leadership is expected to reconvene this weekend to talk about how to proceed.

Ace Hardware is going to continue selling them if they have supply.
Trying to make some sense of it all,
But I can see that it makes no sense at all,
Is it cool to go to sleep on the floor,
'Cause I don't think that I can take anymore
Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.
The reason I think the big guys will quit selling them is because of their lawyers.
I’ve got two hundred plus of them on hand now, should I buy more?
Loews still had them on the shelf yesterday.
The girl at the checkout had no clue of the impending ban.
Like I said last night. Boehner will twist a few arms and go to Pelosi for some Dem votes to get this passed and put off for two months, just like the debt limit.
“I bet you dollars to doughnuts, they are supporters of Romney.”
I won’t take that bet as I believe you are correct. They are part of the team trying to shove Mitt Romney down out throats.
Just nuke it from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.
I dunno. I think Free Republic has lately turned into a perpetual “Damn it, this isn’t a perfect effing deal!” screamfest. No Republican and/or no one to the RIGHT of Hussein (and EVERY REPUBLICAN IN THE RACE is to the RIGHT of Hussein) is good enough to be President.
Hussein has apparently backed down from the millionaires tax. Hussein has apparently backed down from the Keystone pipeline being IN the bill, and while it ain’t perfect, some folks still ARE SO ANXIOUS to see “disaster” in every movement of the body politic.
Damn, folks, we won big last year—but we only seized control of one house of one branch of government. We still have to get more Senators and the White House if we even have a CHANCE of getting something reasonable done. Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Bush all warned us about the war on terror, and I think it applies to the war on liberalism: it’ll be a long, hard, slog.
Sometimes in a war, we find ourselves making alliances with people who aren’t as pure as we would like. But they are useful in defeating the common enemy. Hell, folks, the FRENCH helped us in the 18th century.
Speaking of that, I think sometimes people forget the Revolution wasn’t over in a year. If our forefathers gave up 13 months after declaring Independence from King George, we would still be subject to the monarchy.
Well, I’m glad Schumer is giving Boehner a dig, even if it’s from the left. Boehner ain’t got no respect - that’s what happens to appeasers.
” - - - The Senate passed the bill, 89-10, on Saturday morning.”
Let us praise the brave 10 who voted as “The American People” wanted them to vote.
Does anyone know who they are?
BTW, the fourth option is the one that was not stated in the article: Keep the US Federal Government from writing hot checks by shutting down all entitlement payments, laying off all non-essential Federal workers (without pay), and stopping all salaries to Federally elected officials, and their staffs.
You know, the same way other big companies do when they run out of other peoples money.

Because they will get fined later if they do.
It has a list of 'Democrat Victories' in the bill.
Yup, that was it.
Still, Mitt Griswold, or Clark W. Romney has a nice ring to it.
I’m sure they learned something with Obamacare and can just “deem” it passed...
McConnell’s wife also has a very good gig going in Washington. Kentucky is just a place he used to live.
I bet you dollars to doughnuts, they are supporters of Romney.
I really believe that the Crybaby could be a Democrat plant. You just can't cave to the Democrats every single time and still be considered a Republican.
I have never heard of that ! Of course, I don’t follow this douche so that would explain it.
But anyone, ANYONE, who would do that to their dog deserves three days in the stocks.
Who would ever even THINK of doing something like this ?
Well, I had to go to SNOPES to check it out, and sure enough, it’s listed as true:
In June 2007 the Boston Globe reported that in 1983, current Republican presidential hopeful (and former Massachusetts governor) Mitt Romney had placed his Irish setter in a dog carrier on the roof of his station wagon for a 12-hour trip to his parents’ cottage on the Canadian shores of Lake Huron.
He’d built a windshield for the carrier to make the ride more comfortable for the dog. He’d also made it clear to his five sons that bathroom breaks would be taken only during predetermined stops to gas up the car.
The dog spoiled this plan by letting loose with a bout of diarrhea during its rooftop sojourn, necessitating an unplanned gas station visit for the purpose of hosing down the pooch, its carrier, and the back of the car.
In that Boston Globe article, the incident was pointed to as an example of Romney’s emotion-free crisis management style. Others viewed it differently, regarding the mode of canine transport the dog was subjected to as unnecessarily callous and cruel.
Romney dismisses such critics by saying “They’re not happy that my dog loves fresh air.”
