Uh-oh. Is this the detailed smoking gun that proves beyond doubt that Ron Paul wrote his controversial newsletters? Will it bring an abrupt end to the Paul candidacy? Over at Conservatives Network a piece is up stating that, contrary to Ron Paul's shimmying on the issue, the site has clear proof the newsletters were written by Ron Paul himself. The site has photographic evidence and notes frequent first-person references by the writer to a potential presidential run and so on. Is this revelation to Ron Paul what the Nixon secret tapes were to Richard Nixon's presidency? A smoking gun that fatally wounds a candidacy as the revelation of the Nixon smoking gun tapes ended a presidency? Stay tuned.

Who cares?
Paul is just wasting time and money. He will never be elected to National office.

That is not his role. The MSM now sees that Ron Paul may hold the votes Gingrich needs to beat Romney. They are not going to go after Ron Paul. He is now a key element of the Nominate-Romney-Elect-Obama campaign. He is safe from the MSM at least until Romney secures the nomination.
We can’t let that scenario play out.
Or even outside his drug infested Houston district.
“What’s this all about? Some brewing scandal?”
Nah. Somebody at RNC having an anxiety attack that Paul might prevent selection of the nominee 6 months before the convention.

Check this out. Paul tells Blitz that he would let all blacks out of prison for drug offenses.
AND that BLACKS are the victims of the Iraq War.
Paul is the ONLY candidate that will protect people from the VICIOUS DRUG LAWS.
Hummm. Interesting his didtrict goes right up to the border.
Wonder how much money he gets from the cartels?
Paulites are going nuts in the comments at Amspec Blog.
Here are the actual quotes from the New Republic Story.
Pauls name is on them “but I didn’t write them”. Yeah sure Paul. You have finally been outted. besides being a blatant anti-Semite, your also a flaming racist.

“Last fall, Rand Paul briefly caused a stir when he suggested that his libertarian principles would require him to have opposed the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Paul danced around the subject, refusing the let himself be pinned down.
Tonight his father and political idol, Ron Paul, appeared on “Hardball” and said, very forthrightly, what his son merely implied:
Rand’s statements on the law (which he later retracted) came during his first week as the Republican nominee for Senate in Kentucky in 2010. Ron’s criticisms of the law came on the day he declared his third run for the presidency.
“Yeah,” he told Matthews when asked if he would have voted against the act in Congress. “But I wouldn’t vote against getting rid of the Jim Crow laws.”
Ron, like his son, said that his statement about the Civil Rights Act has nothing to do with the law’s intentions — i.e. ending institutionalized discrimination in a wide swath of American life, including in the public accommodations where African Americans were denied service at the height of the Jim Crow era. Paul said he would vote against the law because it imposed unfair rules on what private business owners can and can’t do on their own property. Essentially, they should be free to discriminate if they wish, Paul says, however distasteful that may be.”
Ron Paul is the Republican Dennis Kucinich, except he does not have a hot wife
Hell... They took Cain out with a lot less. How is this guy still standing?
CAMPAIGN '96/U.S. HOUSE/Newsletter excerpts offer ammunition to Paul's opponent/GOP hopeful quoted on race, crime.
ALAN BERNSTEIN, Houston Chronicle Political Writer Staff
THU 05/23/1996 HOUSTON CHRONICLE, Section A, Page 33, 3 STAR Edition
excerpt "Texas congressional candidate Ron Paul's 1992 political newsletter highlighted portrayals of blacks as inclined toward crime and lacking sense about top political issues.
Under the headline of ""Terrorist Update," for instance, Paul reported on gang crime in Los Angeles and commented, ""If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be."
Paul, a Republican obstetrician from Surfside, said Wednesday he opposes racism and that his written commentaries about blacks came in the context of ""current events and statistical reports of the time."

Because he’s not a threat to the establishment.
Thanks I missed it.
I am sick of the media treating Paul like he’s this poor little misguided Grandpa. PAHLEEEEZE
because he attacks Newt and right now, he is running some vicious anti-newt ads in Iowa. He is the media’s new best friend... for the time being.
All at once that periodical began carrying advertising for "Rose Petals blessed by Our Lady at the World's Fair Site" as well as "T-shirts With Our Lady's Image" ~ .........
I was asked to examine the mail pieces and it seemed to me that someone with exactly the same very expensive paper had simply ran ads and then, before the periodical left the printing plant, they were stapled into the center! (there was 1 staple in the center, 1 at the top, 1 at the bottom ~ only the center staple went through the advertising pages)
All at once this wasn't a problem created by the publisher (his nonprofit publication wasn't supposed to carry ads for t-shirts ~ maybe Mary Rose Petals, but not t-shirts.
A crime had been committed against the RCs so that allowed the Inspection Service to target the t-shirt folks.
Presumably the Inspectors caught and prosecuted the bad guys.
So, I'd have to see the periodical in question to see if Ron Paul did it or some third-party did.
This particular problem, although not that common, does happen, and if they'll do it to the RCs in New York, they'll do it to the Texans in Houston. Criminals just don't care. Ideologues even less.
He gets his 15 minutes of fame every 4 years. So the media gives him a pass. What gets me is that Iowans would actually vote for this guy. That’s the real puzzler.
THAT is exactly what’s going on.
