Typical ignorance of the differences between various Hispanic cultures.
The only reason Cubans and Mexicans are lumped together is because the US Government created the category of “Hispanic”.
While they do share a similar Spanish colonial heritage and language, the individual cultures of each nation that developed after colonization is no more similar than the UK and the United States. Sure there is a similarity, but by no means are they all the same.

When my lovely daughter was going to school in Tampa and working part time, the Cubans she worked with would say things about Mexicans and S. Americans that are less than flattering to say the least. I've heard Puerto Ricans bash those "damned effen Mexicans". But doesn't this type of infighting go on among all ethnicities?
