I used to work for DHS and for a low income jobs training program. No, 99% of them do NOT want to work. When I did place them in jobs, they'd be found hiding out asleep somewhere or wouldn't bother showing up. I couldn't even get them to go to GED classes where they got a paycheck for merely occupying a desk. I would knock on their doors in the mornings to drive them in my own car but they couldn't be bothered to roll out of the bed.
Im poor. And im a flipping “welfare” worker. Its a bitch being a conservative and doing what I do. They come in the office with a do rag, pajamas, and house shoes. They get 1200/rent, free electricity, free daycare,gas cards, bus passes, $400 in cash, 900 in food stamps, and free cellphones. And I can barely get by. Welfare recipients can kiss my silly white ass.
